DETENTIONS DONE

"Ok you may go now Kerry. I never want to see you in detention again." A slight smile flitted across Severus' face.

"Oh. Well that depends if Grainger behaves." She skipped off out the room and she went back to the common room. It was 2 weeks since she last spoke to Draco and she had had detention every day since. She decided that this was the time to speak to him.

"Right! I've had enough." She exclaimed and sat near Draco. "I have finished all my detentions now and I want an answer. Why ignore me for two weeks? My whole Christmas holiday. You better give me a reason because I mig-" Draco had turned round and pulled her into a big hug.

"I'm so sorry. But I didn't want to speak to you. I thought you were mad at me as well." She returned the hug and laid her head on his shoulder.

"It's ok. I guess. All the students are back tomorrow. Grainger better stay out of my way." Kerry warned. "The hippogriff is going in a couple of weeks. I do feel sorry for it you know."

"Yeh. Well. I didn't know what my dad was going to do. I can't do anything about it now. Sorry." Draco answered. "It's getting late lets go to bed. But I'll see you in the morning." They kissed and went their separate ways.

******

It was a sunday morning and Kerry woke quite early. It was time for all the students to come back. It was only 7:30 but Kerry decided to get up and get ready anyway. Only an hour and a half until breakfast.

"I think I'll write a letter to my mom." She thought.

••••••> Dear Mother,

I hope you enjoyed Christmas and my present I bought you. I had a couple of detentions but nothing to dampen my spirits. I loved the coat you bought me. Thank you. I had this lovely necklace and some other things of my friends, along with a bracelet.

Speak to you again soon,

Love Kerry. <••••••

"That's a load of lies." Kerry thought. Her mother didn't accept boyfriends much and she didn't want to hear about fighting either. Or the fact that she knew who her father was. She sealed the letter and went up to the owlery. "I'll borrow Asquith again I think." She called him down and gave him the letter. "To my mother in Hogsmeade please Asquith."

She made her way back to the common room and Draco was waiting. It was 8:30 now.

"Good morning. I've just sent a letter to my mother."

"Morning. Shall we take a slow walk to the great hall?" Draco asked.

"Yeh sure." They made their way towards the great hall but went down a few different corridors to waste time. "This is a nice walk actually. I might do it more often. Hey Severus!" She shouted.

"Hello. Draco, Kerry. I see that your love has rekindled itself." He said.

"Yes actually Severus. It was just the fact that we were too scared to talk to each other about it." She smiled.

"Ah, I see." He walked off towards breakfast. Kerry tugged Draco's hand.

"Come on. I'm starving." Kerry said.

"So am I." They made it to the great hall and ate together. They chatted and laughed and were as happy as they could be. Lupin came over to them.

"Good morning. Made up have you?" He asked politely.

"Yes thank you sir. It was silly really." Kerry answered.

"Yes, well young love is pretty silly. Everyone will be back in a few hours so I better get preparing. Good day to you both." They both smiled and Lupin walked away.

"I don't know what to think about him. Have you seen the scars on his face? That's something bad, not right." Draco mentioned.

"Oh. He told me it was a dark animal that he was dealing with once." She lied. She obviously couldn't tell him the truth.

"Oh, ok. Whatever."

******

"Come on Draco! They will be here in a minute. I want to be in the great hall first!"

"Ok. Ok. I'm done!" He shouted from his dormitory. He ran down the steps and they walked to the great hall quickly. Luckily no one was there yet.

"Pansy is going to freak when I tell her about us." Said Draco.

"Oh. You want to tell her? But she's my best friend."

"And what if we are kissing in the corridor or something? What would we say? 'Oh sorry Pansy, i tripped'." He laughed.

"Oh shut up. I'll tell her then." They waited apprehensively for the students to arrive. Pansy and Blaise were one of the first into the great hall.

"Over here!" Kerry shouted. "Ok Draco ill tell her now." She squeezed his hand under the table.

"Hey Kerry! Hey Draco. Did you have a nice Christmas?" Pansy seemed excited.

"Yes actually Pansy we did."

"What do you mean we? Did you spend it together or something?" She scoffed. Draco started to speak.

"Well Pansy, we did actually." He lifted up their hands, which were intwined. "We are going out now."

"That's wicked news guys!" Blaise said.

"No-it-is-not! How could you Kerry!" She got up quickly, threw a bracelet at Kerry and went to the other end of the table.

"What's that?" Draco asked.

"Our friendship band. She is well jealous." Everyone had came into the hall and sat down. Kerry noticed that Hermione was giving her scornful looks.

"I have a right mind to go and smack that Grainger one! Looking at me like that, what have I done wrong?" She muttered.

"Welcome back everyone!" Dumbledore had stood up. "I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a happy New Year. The dementors, as you may have noticed, are still around the grounds. No more luck with Sirius Black's arrest. However that is nothing to worry about at this time. Right now we should be thinking about the forthcoming term! Studying hard for the OWLS and the NEWTS. Keeping concentration at all times and not slacking. We shall eat!" The food appeared on the table and the hall became noisy again.

"Do you think Pansy will be ok Draco?" Kerry asked.

"Of course. She's just acting like a jealous brat. You know what she's like."

"Yeh I guess." She looked down the table and Pansy seemed to be slightly crying. "I'm going down there." She got up and walked towards Pansy.

"Hey." She sat down.

"Get away from me! How could you?"

"It just happened. We have liked each other for a while now." Kerry explained.

"But I like Draco!"

"Well he doesn't like you, I'm sorry." Kerry stood up but Pansy grabbed her wrist.

"Kerry?" She said innocently. Kerry turned round.

"Wha-" SMACK! Pansy had hit her right in the face with a punch. The whole great hall went silent. Kerry swayed slightly but regained her balance.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Kerry roared. "You stupid little-" a hand went over her mouth. It was Severus, again.

"Don't say another word Kerry." He let her go but kept a hold of her arm.

"Why hit me? Just because me and Draco are now together!" Most of the hall gasped. "Oh! You will not want to be near me anymore!" Pansy wasn't held by anyone. "Severus, please let go of me. She's not worth it!" He did as she asked.

"Come with me now! Miss.Parkinson." Severus escorted Pansy away.

"What in merlins name are all you looking at?" She shouted to the hall. She then went and sat down next to Draco. "What the hell?" Was all she could muster. Her nose throbbed but didn't feel broken and was not bleeding.

"I don't have a clue why she did that. She is so jealous! What a cow." Draco replied.

"Yeh. She better stay out of my way."
