"See, how she leans her cheek upon her hand! O, that I were a glove upon that hand, that I might touch that cheek." I heard a voice call up from below. I smiled, looking down over the hotel balcony where I had been watching the sun go down over the ocean to see Austin grinning up at me.
"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet." I played along dramatically, reciting a line I remembered from Romeo and Juliet back to him. His grin grew,
"Nope, you're a Carlile now babe!" He yelled, making me laugh. "I have a surprise, can you come down and meet me by the front door?" He asked.
"What if I jump down?" I asked with a devilish smile. He looked surprised and slightly concerned.
"You're afraid of heights." He pointed out, chuckling slightly.
"Not if you're below to catch me." I said sweetly, leaning forward more and pretending to lose my balance, making him jump. I started laughing as I caught myself on the bar again and blew him a kiss before opening the sliding glass door to our room and walking back in.
Our honeymoon was the stereotypical trip to Hawaii but I didn't care, I was just happy to be with Austin and away from it all. Plus this place was so beautiful I could stare at it all from my balcony all day.
I stripped out of my oversized shirt and threw it down, replacing it with a light sun dress before brushing out my windswept hair. As I walked to the elevator to meet Austin in the lobby I googled more Romeo and Juliet quotes to find a new one since I remember very little of the story.
"Take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun." I recited, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him gently on the lips as I found him also staring at his phone near the door. He smiled against my lips, pulling me closer and wrapping his arms around me.
After we parted he took my hand, intertwining our fingers as he led me away past the pools and on to the beach where we continued to walk until we could no longer see the hotel and all the people milling around it.
"Aww!" I gasped with a smile as he led me around one final bend to find a little patch of beach hidden behind the trees. It had a light blue pick nick blanket spread out over the sugar sand and a small basket of food with a pot of ice next to it and a cooling bottle of wine inside.
"So much underaged drinking happens with us." I laughed.
"Oh hush." He chuckled. I looked up at him and smiled but he was looking down at the blanket spread instead of paying attention so I jumped on him, wrapping my legs around his waist and tackling him onto the blanket. He was stunned for a moment but then started laughing as I attacked his face with kisses, he wrapped an arm around my back and grabbed my chin in the other hand, capturing my lips with his. Butterflies danced in my stomach as our lips moved together as if it were the first time we'd ever kissed and I felt like just melting into him and laying with him here for the rest of the night without a care in the world.
I was breathing rapidly as he finally pulled away, staring at my lips as he ran his thumb across them.
I took his face between my hands, kissing him lightly on the lips again before pulling away and staring into his eyes.
"I love you." I whispered softly, making him smile.
"I love you too." He said, pushing me off him and rolling me onto my back, and kissing me passionately again, his hand cupping my jaw.
