Ch 16
"Home sweet home." I groaned, flopping down on our bed and feeling exhausted.
Austin chuckled, setting our bags down by our closet and joining me on the bed, staring up at the roof.
"White wall isn't as nice as a starry night sky." I sighed.
"I can hang a bunch of posters of movie stars up if that'll help." He said making me laugh.
"Not what I meant but thanks." I chuckled.
"Yo, love doves, ya'll home!?" I heard Angel's voice drift up from below.
A spark of energy ran through me at hearing her voice and I jumped up, scrambling over Austin and ran out the door. Angel was at the bottom of the stairs and I threw myself into her arms happily squealing and jumping up and down with her.
"I missed you!" She yelled into my ear, making me wince at her volume.
"Who got married again...?" Alan asked laughing at both of us, I looked up and caught his strange gaze as he walked past us and into the kitchen.
"I have a husband and a wife so what!" I shot back laughing.
"Don't even act like you and Austin aren't bromance married." Angel added, laughing too.
"We are not!" Gingy said defensively, opening the fridge and looking for a drink. At this suddenly Austin came bounding down the stairs and pulled him into a bear hug.
"Aww, they're such besties." Angel said, acting touched.
"We'll leave you two alone you need it." I chuckled, watching them launch into a very animated conversation. I grabbed Angel's wrist and pulled her up the stairs into Austin and I's room, shutting the door behind us and flopping back down on to our bed.
"So how'd it go?" I smiled, watching her face morph into pure happiness at me mentioning the trip.
"Better than expected." She murmured quietly, grinning to herself. It was then that I noticed a little shine on her left ring finger.
"No way!" I gasped, instantly locking my gaze on her hand.
"Yeah." She smiled giddily, holding her hand up for me to see the new engagement ring.
"Congrats!" I smiled, pulling her into a tight hug. "You better start saving for it now knowing your plans." I teased.
"Whatever." She laughed, "anyways, how did your trip go?"
"Fine." I replied nonchalantly.
"Fine? Just fine? Come on, you gotta give me more than that!" She insisted.
"Well we didn't really do much, it was just a lot of lounging around together, it was really nice and relaxing though so I loved it." I said. She nodded,
"I feel bad, your wedding sucked and your honeymoon was boring." She laughed.
"Hey! Don't you be knocking my wedding!" I threatened jokingly,
"So what are you doing today?" She asked once we had stopped laughing.
"Sleeping until next week then checking in with the police for any updates." I chuckled. "I'm so tired." I yawned.
"Yeah, I guess it's a little late start to make plans." she sighed, seeing the clock was getting close to 9pm.
"I also might go visit my mom tomorrow.." I said quietly, Angel looked up at me in surprise.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I haven't visited her grave since she was buried, it's time I did." I sighed.
"I can come with you if you want, I know it'll be emotional and I know the boys are jumping right back into work tomorrow so Austin won't be there." She said.
