Early the next morning my phone shook us awake as it bussed across the hotel nightstand. Austin and I groaned in unison as I smashed my hand down over it and drew it to my ear.

"What?" I snapped, not even looking to see who it was.

"This is Jen from the LA police. We found something pertaining to your father and were wondering if you could come down to the station." The secretary chirped.

"No." I grumbled. "You all don't really seem that interested in catching him and he just tried to blow me up yesterday, so no. I'm staying in bed and relaxing today, fuck you all." I muttered, pressing end on the call and throwing it back on the night stand while I closed my eyes again and tried to fall back asleep.

Austin's arms tightened around me and he kissed me on the cheek sweetly.

"Good morning beautiful." He murmured. "Don't be mad at them, they said they found something so obviously they are looking, give it a chance." He said optimistically. My phone started buzzing again and I groaned, answering it once more.

"I said no." I stately flatly as my hello.

"I don't care 'cause I think you'll be interested to know we just found a decomposing body that tested positive for your dad's DNA. He's been dead for 3 months." A blunt male voice grunted.

"What!?" I squeaked, sitting up straight in bed out of shock.

"You heard me girl now get your ass down here." He said then hung up. I looked at Austin in shock, he looked just as surprised.

"You heard that right?" I asked slowly. He nodded. "What the fuck!?" I yelled, jumping out of bed and rushing down the hall to Alan and Angel's room. After a few minutes of banging on the door wildly a groggy Alan finally pulled the door open, squinting at me as he did. I rushed past him and found Angel still laying in bed but awake.

"He's dead." I stated in disbelief. She cocked her eye brow questioningly at me.

"Who?"

"My dad. The police found a body that tested positive for his DNA, he's been dead 3 months. All this shit that's has been happening that we thought was him wasn't." I explained still shocked. Her mouth dropped open,

"How is that possible?" She asked in disbelief as well.

"I don't know but the police want me to come down there." I said. She nodded,

"Okay then, lets go!"

When we got to the station we were greeted by an officer and by the sound of his voice, he was the one who I had spoken to over the phone. He led us back to the holding room where we had stayed last time and put everyone in it but me, instantly taking me into an interrogation room.

First he asked me questions about the explosion and I told him everything from my bad feeling to almost walking in but then seeing a car drive off when I hadn't and then the explosion and the freak out afterwards. Then he talked me through how they had found my dad's body discarded in an ally way and that they were sure it was him.

"Would you like to see the body and try to make an ID?" He asked. I numbly shook my head.

"No, I'll take your word for it." I mumbled, he nodded in understanding.

"This case doesn't make any sense anymore. The way he lived his life and exacted his revenge so calculatedly shows he was trained like an agent and worked alone but his murder looks like mafia activity. Why some mobsters would want to take him out is beside us, but what we do know is that who ever has been after you isn't him and we're considering taking you into protection until we know more about the situation. When we thought it was a father daughter connection we were confident he wouldn't try to hurt you out right but now that we have no idea who is behind this it takes on a whole new level if unpredictability."
