Tan's POV

She stays over all weekend an doesn't leave until Sunday evening. I stay in my room, only leaving to go down to the backyard studio and play an instrument that I don't already have access to.

For as long as I can remember music has calmed me down. I remember Brendon singing to me when I was upset, and I remember feeling better. I even remember my mum singing You Are My Sunshine to me. And I remember when I was all alone, I would sing to myself, and everything would be alright again. But as soon as I stop playing I'm faced with reality again, and all the bitterness returns.

Brendon knocks on my door at 7pm on the Sunday.
"What?" I ask irritably, putting down my phone. He opens the door an smiles gently at me. "Hey Tan."

"Hi." I sigh bluntly. "Do you need something or?" I just don't want to be around Jenny any longer. And when she's around she seems to follow Brendon like a lost puppy.

"I just havn't seen you all weekend." He says, sounding almost confused. "Is it wrong to want to see my daughter?"

I just shrug off his question. "I'm gonna spend the night at Pete's to work on our music assignment tommorrow."

He looks a little hurt. "We were gonna jam tommorrow."

"We were gonna jam on Friday but apparantly Jenny was more important." I shoot back.

He sighs and takes a seat on the edge of my bed. "Tan, I know that this is a new thing for you, and I know it's gonna take time to make things work, but I think you're mature enough to do it." He tells me, reaching out to touch my arm.
"Buddy didn't attack her." I say sternly. "He tried to lick her, and it's perfectly within his right to do that."

He sighs again. "I don't believe that he did, but if the dog makes her uncomfortable then he has to stay in the other room."

I shrug, not happy with the outcome.

"We're gonna go out as a family on Wednesday." He informs me with a small smile.

"She's not my family." I mutter.

"You're going, Tan." He says.

"Whyyyyy?" I drag out the word, leaning into his side. He chuckles lightly. "Because you need to spend some time with her. Come on, let's order pizza." He gets up and I follow, Buddy close on my heels. And even if it's just for now, everything's alright again.

---

I stayed over at the Wentz household on Monday, just as I said I would. I talked to Pete about the Jenny situation, and he told me that j could always come and stay with him and Fin.

Fin, Rory and I worked on our acoustic cover of 'Kids In The Dark' by All Time Low, and Fin and I recorded some content for their channel.

But then Wednesday rolled around and I was forced to get in the car with Brendon and drive to the restraunt.
I'm wearing some dressy shirt I got a long time ago and never wore and a black skirt. Not my style at all, but Brendon insisted.

And incase your wondering, yes, I did wear my favourite black converse.

We walked in and spotted our table instantly, and of course Jenny was already there. Hooray.

I took my seat, mumbling a 'hello' to the woman before pulling out my phone and checking Twitter.

"Tan, could you please put your phone away?" Brendon asks politely. I sigh, but do as he asks.

"So Jenny." I begin, internally groaning as I make voluntarily communication with her. "How's your day been?"

"Oh, well I began the day with a quick trip to the salon to get my nails done." She began, holding out her hands for proof. "And then I got my hair done and did a little shopping."

"Awesome." I say, not even stopping the sarcasm from pushing through.

I don't say much until our food arrives, and as soon as it does Jenny decides that I'm the most interisting thing in the friggen' world.
"Maybe I could take you to get your nails done!" She squeals with excitement. Before she can go any further, I shake my head. "Thanks for the offer, but I've still gotta play guitar as long nails don't mix well." I do my best to politely refuse, but she was having none of it.

"Why not just stop playing guitar then?" She asks as if it's nothing of importance.
"You know I'm a musician, right?" I ask. "And so is my dad. Guitar isn't something I can just stop playing. And besides, Dallon and I plan to go wake boarding this weekend. Nails would just get in the way."

She wrinkles her nose at me for a moment before changing the subject. "What about your hair? We could go and get it done really fancy and-"

"Let me stop you right there." I but in again. "I dot like having my hair don't up, and I don't want to go out with you and change my look, okay? Maybe we could go see a movie or something."

"Tan, she's offering to take you out after school one day. It's rude not to accept." Brendon nods, fixing me with a 'dad' look.

"Bren, I really don't want to go." I mutter.

"Your going." He mutters in return, and I didn't say anything else for the rest of the meal.

I posted this on my page but I only got a couple of responses, so I'll do it again here :)
