The hospital experiences described here are partially from a personal experience I had a year and a bit ago. The nurse I talk about here is based off the nurse who looked after me, bought me apple juice at 2 am and helped me learn to walk again (and told the doctor to fuck off when he tried to send me home early.) I know she's never gonna find this, but thanks Olivia <3 You made it a little easier.
Tanith's POV
I don't think that the doctor assigned to me likes me very much.
The upside is, he's being paid to look after me and kinda can't be a dick. His name is Doctor Carlson, and he's probably the most boring person I know. On night one he tried to kick Brendon and Sarah out of my room for the, but the nurse from before came to our rescue and put him in his place. Her name turned out to be Olivia, and she quickly became my favorite.
Zack and Alex visited the next day, bringing massive bouquets of flowers and even a teddy bear with a little hat. So did Ray, Kenny and Joe, each bringing chocolate and smiling brightly.
It broke my heart when I learned that Andy, Mikey, Patrick and Tyler were being detained at the sheriff's station. And then the truth came out.
Dallon, Josh, Frank and Pete were all technically arrested, but confined within the hospital until they were discharged. They couldn't leave the floor, which I also learned had been closed off to the public. Frank was the only exception because he was struggling to remain awake for extended periods of time. Olivia noticed that he was more responsive when Gerard was around, so he was confined to the room, by his best friends side.
Brendon was at the station when the call was made, and allowed temporary release to comfort me. He had some police tracker thing stuck to his ankle that allowed them to track his movements, and had to go back towards the end of my third day.Visitation rights were cut off after I'd seen everyone for the first time.
I was left bound to a wheelchair, even though my legs worked fine.
Fin was left with the few who weren't arrested or hospitalized. All Time Low stayed, maybe to look after them or maybe because they were really needed. But we're all glad they did. The only updates I got were from Sarah, the only person allowed to have a phone.
She stayed with me every night.
When I couldn't sleep, she'd stay up and talk about anything and everything. When I was in pain she'd call a nurse, and when I was feeling down she was there to lift me up.And that's how it was for the first week.
I spent most of my time in Dallon, Josh and Pete's room with Sarah.
Pete tried to make jokes about all the illegal shit he'd done to lift the mood, but it never really worked. If any one of them was out of bed, they would have one hand shackled to the wheelchair. If they had to use the bathroom, the door would be locked behind them.
Doctor Carlson tried time and time again to prevent me from spending so much time with the 'criminals' who got me ended up here, but Olivia came to my rescue every single time.
It was like a total lockdown.
As we entered the second week, Frank began to improve, much to everyone's relief. But an officer came to escort Gerard to the Sheriff's station, and the goodbye was emotional. Frank was asleep at the time, but only because of the heavy medication he was on.
"Mr Way if you could please come with me." The man said as he stood in the door frame. He didn't try to hide the fact that he was a cop. The shackles in his hand and the gun hanging from his belt were the dead give aways, and then there's his uniform.
