HARRY'S POV

The first thing I did when I woke up Thursday morning was run to the Owlery. I almost screamed with joy when I saw an owl with a parchment rolled up in its beck. Luckily I saw 'Harry' scribbled on the front and ripped it open, reading the letter immediately. Of course, it was from Sirius who mentioned to meet him in the Gryffindor common room tonight alone and that he couldn't send this with Hedwig as it was too dangerous.

After all my classes as I was walking back to Gryffindor Tower the long way (through the Courtyard), I couldn't help but notice a tall boy surrounded by a big group of older kids. Cedric Diggory. He was the Hogwarts champion, well the legal Hogwarts champion. The reminder of the tournament scared me more than I already was, and that was before the dragons. I began to wonder if Cedric knew about the dragons, and before I could stop myself, I was walking up to the tall boy entertaining his friends.

"Can I have a word?" I asked when Cedric noticed I was there. His friends, 3 Hufflepuff boys and a Hufflepuff girl, all began to laugh, yelling things like "You stink, Potter!" or "Cedric rules!".

"Alright." Cedric agreed and followed me as I walked away from his friends, who continued yelling insults.

"Dragons, that's the first task. They've got one for each of us." I watched Cedric's face go from a grin to genuine concern.

"You're serious? And Fleur and Krum do they...?" Cedric wondered.

"Yes," I answered. I knew Madame Maxime would have told Fleur, and Krum's headmaster probably got it out of Maxime.

"Right." He mumbled.

"C'mon, Ced, leave him!" One of his friends yelled, earning an outburst of laughter from the rest of them. Just as I began to walk away, he grabbed my arm. "Hey listen, I'm sorry about my friends-"

"Don't worry about it." I walked away from Cedric as I heard his friends howl.

"Why so tense, Potter?" Dracos annoying voice rang through my ears. Where was Hailey when he was like this? "My father and I have a bet you see, I don't think you're going to last 10 minutes in this tournament. He disagrees... he thinks you won't last five." Before thinking, I ran right up to him.

"I don't give a damn what your father thinks, Malfoy! He's vile and cruel, and you're pathetic." Draco scowled, going for his wand. I had mine behind my back, ready.

Draco opened his mouth and aimed his wand at me, but before he could get anything out, a familiar shriek froze his entire body.

"Draco!" Hailey cried, appearing out of nowhere and running between us, an arm out in front of our faces. I could see the anger displayed clear on her face.

"Hailey-" Draco and I said in unison, both attempted to defend ourselves, but she wasn't having it.

"Stop! I saw the whole thing!" She put her arms down and grabbed my wrist, dragging me back with her towards the castle, but stopped and turned back around to look at Draco quickly, who was looking dumbfounded with his mouth open. "I can't believe you." She spat, and walked back into the castle with me, not waiting for an answer.

"Thank you," I said once we were far down a corridor, away from Draco and the action.

"You're not completely innocent either." She said, pulling her grip off my wrist and crossing her arms over her chest.
