HAILEY'S POV
At 5, while everyone else went to dinner, the champions went out to the where the final task was being held, the maze. I had never been this far from the Hogwarts grounds before.
"I didn't even know this was here." I heard Cedric mumble beside me. I grabbed his wrist out of sudden fear. What was in the maze?
"Did you actually snag her Diggory?" Viktor teased from behind us, referring to our hands that were now intertwined.
"Yea, Krum, I did. What about Hermione though? How's she?" Cedric teased right back, and Krum rolled his eyes, scoffing a little. I remembered seeing them kiss and stifled a laugh. Krum gave me a look of curiosity, but I just smiled at the ground.
"Very complicated." He replied finally and the boys laughed.
"Here we are champions." Dumbledore boomed. He was a little ahead of Cedric and me, but as soon as we rounded the same corner Dumbledore had, we saw what he was talking about.
We stood on the grass, the stands to our right and the 5 entrances to the maze to our left. The entrances were taller than Hagrid, who was walking up to them to inspect them, and I suddenly grew more nervous.
I guess my grip grew tighter because Cedric chuckled a little and looked down at our hands.
"You're a lot stronger than you look, love, now please loosen up a little." He whispered in my ear and I suddenly realized what happened. I wondered if he forgot we had broken up or if he was just doing it because the other champions were around, like Harry.
"Oh, sorry!" I quickly whispered back, letting go. It felt too weird holding his hand even though we agreed to break up.
"You can do this. You'll be great. I'll find you in the maze, we can do this together." He quickly kissed my cheek before anyone saw, and then we walked towards the growing circle of staff and champions.

"At the sound of the cannon you may-" Dumbledore was attempting to say until he was cut off by the cannon. This was it. I took one look at the crowd, my eyes scanning the crowd for my people. I spotted Celeste with Adalene and Amity first, all cheering and smiling. I smiled back at them, and then kept looking for him. He said he'd be here, so why couldn't I spot his bleach blonde hair? Realizing all the other champions had started running, I gave up and stepped into the maze, turning my head over my shoulder to look one more time.
There, right in the middle of the stands, was my boy. He had a smirk on his face and his arms were crossed. He nodded once at me and I knew he meant 'You can do it'. I smiled again and nodded my head multiple times before the vines of the maze started growing over the entrance. I was officially now in the maze. I immediately ran into the maze as fast as I could, completely unaware just how much everything was about to change. The sound of the Beauxbatons girls cheering died down as I ran further, trying to find Cedric or Harry or anyone. I came to a T and took a left, then a sharp left again, and saw someone standing at the end! I ran faster, hoping it was one of my boys. As I came closer to the person, I noticed they were completely freaking out. I came to an immediate halt, Dumbledore said the maze 'changed people'. Was this what he meant?
I took a few more steps closer and noticed the raven hair and red and black long sleeve shirt for Gryffindor.
It was Harry.
"Harry?" I called, calmly. What if he attacked me? He turned around, looking as frantic as I assumed. I looked into his blue eyes. They were completely normal, and for some reason, I just knew then he hadn't been 'changed'.
