-Cady-
It seemed like we had been in the car for hours and hours, I know we hadn't though because the clock on the radio sat 19:03pm. It was such an awkward silence we had no clue what to say to each other. This night was going to go on forever if it continued like this. So I decided to do something about it.
"Um, Josh?"
"Yeah? Whats up?"
"Why did you get my number, of all the girls you could have had, including the ones that actually knew who you were, why did you choose me?"
"I don't know, it just felt normal, I am so used to girls trying to get my attention and bombarding me with messages. With you, well you were just natural, so I knew exactly who I fell in love with, and I liked who I fell in love with"
"Your in love with me?!"
"Well...ur...um...I...uh"
I leaned over towards Josh and whispered in his ear
"I love you too" giving him a kiss on the cheek
He blushed slightly, and oh my god did he look good when he blushed. I don't think the smiles wiped off our faces for the rest of the car journey. He grasped my hand in his while steering with the other, it was a good thing that we were on a really quiet road in the middle of no where, if we were on a main road we probably would be in hospital by now. We finally pulled up outside a forest path and Josh pulled a picnic hamper out of the boot of the car, I wish he had reminded me to bring a jacket though because it was freezing as I stepped out the car. I didn't want to make him feel bad so I tried to keep my teeth from chattering, and my body shivering but I couldn't help it.
"Oh babe, here you go take my jacket"
And before I knew it his warm leather jacket was hooked around my shoulders. I was secretly scared of the dark but I didn't tell him that.
"So, um why have you brought me here? I asked
"You'll soon see"
We continued to walk through the winding paths of the forest. After a few minutes I could see the moon's reflection on what looked like water, through an opening in the trees. We walked towards it and it was a beautiful private beach, there wasn't a single person other than us there. Josh flattened out a patch of sand and threw a picnic blanket on the ground. He sat down and I sat down closely next to him. He opened the hamper, there was sandwiches, crisps and chocolate in there.
"Um, Josh? I kind of had the exact same stuff for lunch, I'm sorry!"
"Oh damn, I wanted this to be perfect"
"Don't worry babe, I wasn't that hungry anyway"
"Oh, phewf, because actually, neither am I the boys insisted on going out for a massive lunch. So how about we go for a swim instead?"
"Okay seriously Josh, next time we go on a date you seriously need to tell me what I need to bring with me" I said laughing
He dug around in the hamper and pulled out a gorgeous emerald green bikini
"There is going to be more dates? I look forward to it. You can go change over there" He pointed to a little beach hut
I put the bikini on, grabbed my clothes and walked back out towards Josh. I threw my clothes on the blanket.
"Last one to the water has to give the other a kiss!"
"Wait, give me 2 seconds!"
"One, two..."
"WAIT, stop running!"
I kind of forgot that Josh played football so he was an insanely fast runner, he quickly caught up with me. He held out his leg so I tripped up and fell on my face. By the time I stood up Josh was already in the ocean
"Someone owes me a kiss!" He yelled
I ran towards him and leaped into his arms. Before I knew it my lips were pressed against his. When we pulled away from each other Josh looked a little shocked
"What's wrong?"
"Um, I think I made your nose bleed when I tripped you up!"
"Oh well don't worry!"
It started to get really cold in the water, so I started to walk out of the water and towards the blanket. The sand felt so soft on my feet.
"Hey, did you bring any towels?" I shouted
"One, I couldn't find another one!"
"Oh, that's alright, we will share" I winked and smirked at Josh
We cuddled up with the towel over both of us. Josh's arm was over my shoulder and my head was resting on his. We must have stayed like that for hours, just talking. He told me to lie down, so that's what I did. The sky was beautiful, the stars lit it up like a billion lights. He lied down next to me and we continued to talk for hours. He turned on to his side and grabbed me by the waist, pulling me towards him. The feeling of his warm breath on my face and his bare chest on my back was amazing. He kissed the back of my neck and told me we had better be going soon as the sun was coming up and he had to leave early in the morning.
"To make it easier, and to make sure you get enough rest, do you want to stay at mine tonight?"
"That would be great, thankyou."
We picked up our things and made our way back to the car. I forgot he didn't know where I lived so I had to keep directing him. I kept giggling because he seemed to forget which way was left and which was right. We eventually got to my house and walked through the door. I made some hot chocolate for us both and got changed into my pyjamas. I put them down on the table and started talking to Josh, but he interrupted me with a passionate kiss before I knew it I was pinned against the wall still kissing him. I started to have flashbacks...
