-Josh-
Today was the day we would leave the hospital with Connor. I packed Cady's bag as she placed Connor delicately in the pram.
"Ready to go babe?"
"Yeah I think so" She replied.
We left the hospital and made our way home. As soon as we got to our house Cady fell asleep in our bedroom. I whispered in her ear,
"Is it okay if I take Connor out? I want to show him something"
"Yeah that's fine babe, just text me when you are on your way home"
"Will do"
I placed Connor in his car seat and started driving. This was going to be emotional, I could tell.
Exactly one hour later I arrived at my destination. I picked up Connor and walked through the door. As I placed my hand on his stomach, he wrapped his fingers around my thumb. Yes I was crying. I looked around the building, taking in the surroundings that I hadn't seen in a few years.
"Connor, this place is very important to me and your Mummy. Look around. See that table over there? That was where I first spoke to your mummy, and I knew from that moment that I loved her. I remember her telling us about how we made her late, but she was smiling at us anyway. Her smile made my heart melt. It was lucky she gave me her number, otherwise I wouldn't be here talking to you. Your Mummy is very special to me and I am so lucky to have someone like her in my life, but I feel even luckier to have you"
I stood in the middle of the pub. Connor was looking up at me with his gorgeous blue eyes, wide and bright.
"We had better get going aye? Mummy will be worried"
