-Cady-
I woke up to the sound of Josh's heartbeat beneath my head. Feeling his chest rise up and down I could tell he was awake. I looked up to see him looking down at me, but without the expression I was expecting. He looked worried, almost scared.
"Josh?"
"Cady don't be mad okay"
"What have you done now?"
"I think you should go and buy a pregnancy test"
"You what"
"Do I have to say it again"
Before I could reply I leapt onto him to give him a kiss.
"Of course I'm not mad"
"Promise?"
"Promise"
I swung my legs over the bed, forgetting I was totally naked,
"Babe?"
"T-shirt?"
"Yes please"
He got out of bed and handed me his favourite t-shirt, I then went downstairs to make myself a cup of tea. I sure did love a cuppa. As I boiled the kettle Josh emerged from the staircase pulling on his shoes,
"Babe, I'm going to see the boys, will be back soon, love you"
Before I could question him the front door had closed leaving me alone in the house. I took this as an opportunity to 1, eat all of Josh's biscuits, and 2, do something special for him. I would have felt extremely guilty if it wasn't for the second part.
After demolishing the whole packet of biscuits, I went shopping! Not for me, that would be selfish. We had a room downstairs that we were using for all our junk. Josh and I wanted to turn it into a home cinema, unrealistic I know. But you have no idea how bored I was.
When I got home Josh's car was back so I hid everything in the boot of my car, saving it for a later date. I unlocked the door to see my husband holding a brown paper bag.
"So where have you been Cady"
"Just went for a drive, what about you"
"I told you, I went to see the boys, but then I got you this"
He gestured for me to take the bag, so that's what I did. I opened and saw what must have been at least 15 if not more pregnancy tests.
"Josh really? It only takes one"
"I just wanted to be sure"
We both paused for a few minutes, obviously nervous as to what we do next.
"Guess I better go take the test then, or should I say tests"
Josh just nodded his head, he was so cute being all nervous. I did what I had to do and left all of the tests on the bathroom counter. I walked back in giving josh the signal to start the stopwatch, three minutes was all it would take.
Those three minutes happened to be the longest three minutes of my life. Josh had his head in his hands tapping his foot. We were both nervous, this was possibly our second shot of starting a family. It made him jump when his phone bleeped, signalling that we didn't have to wait any longer. We looked at eachother, I got up to go and check the tests. Just before I placed my hand on the door handle I turned around to face Josh,
"I don't think I can do this"
Josh took my place by the door and gestured for me to sit on the bed. When he walked into the bathroom I could feel my heart beating faster. He walked back out again struggling to hold all of the tests mumbling something I couldn't quite hear,
