Tris's Point of View (again)

Time flies when you're having fun, at least that's what some smart, dead guy said. I don't believe school is fun, so throughout the weeks until Thanksgiving Break, I was wondering how time was flying. Eventually I was packing my bags for the lake house with all of my friends. Bathing suits, jeans, shorts, sandals: you name it, I packed it. I wanted to be prepared for anything for the week that we were spending at the lake house. My parents decided on renting a RV to take all of us to the house and to relax in, since to drive was long. I was most excited about hanging out with all of the girls: to go kayaking, swimming, roasting marshmallows, singing and playing the guitar beside the fire. This trip was going to be a blast. There was also a secret lake that only I knew about since I have been exploring the woods since I was a little one.

We have owned this lake house for a while, before I was ten, and I knew all the little crooks and crannies. The fire pit was my favorite. All of my favorite memories were placed there: where I first learned how to play the guitar, where I've sung for my parents, where Caleb and I roasted marshmallows with my parents. All good times and so naturally I am going to be excited about sharing this with my friends. Eventually my suitcase is fully packed and I bring it out to the RV. All of my friends are here, I give them quick hugs, and my dad and I fill the RV with all of our belongings. Both my family and friends pack into the RV and we start our way to the lake house. With my parents sitting in the front seats and Caleb sleeping in a bed towards the back, the rest of us sit at the kitchen table and couches near the little kitchen area.

"What do you guys want to do?" I question.

"Do you have any board games?" Zeke asks.

I get up and walk towards the back of the RV. Being as quiet as I can, as to not wake Caleb, I gather all of the games and place them on the table. The games are then placed on the table, all sprawled out.

"Scrabble, Taboo, Uno, Monopoly, Sorry, Cards Against Humanity, and Dictionary," I list the names of the games.

"What about Taboo?" Chris questions, sitting next to Will. The group responds with a handful of yeses and one or two no's. I then grab the rest of the games and put them on the counter. As we start to play Taboo, things get out of hand and we all end up on the floor with the table fallen over. Needless to say, Uriah got mad that his team didn't win. We go through the line of games that are in the RV and then get bored, so Chris moves to the couches and starts to go on her social media. Eventually we all do that and dabble around on whatever we have on our electronics. Amongst all of this time, I somehow fall asleep.

I wake when I feel someone giggling and then snaps. I open my eyes to see Four under me and I on top of him. Both of us obviously fell asleep during the ride and then my glorious friends decided to make fun of the situation. The problem is, when I went to get up off of him, his one arm that was around my waist tightened until his muscles were about to pop out of his shirt. How it didn't hurt me or break my bones, beats me. When I went to get up again he pushed me back down and then moved to where I was caught between him and the back of the couch. I let out a loud sigh and then motion my friends to go and get their stuff from the storage area.

When they leave, I try to wiggle my way out of Four's arm, but it's no use. I then poke him annoyingly in the cheek but nothing happens. I try multiple times to get out of this new cage but none of my tactics are working. I then think of any sensitive areas he has and think of his back. I whisper in his ear: "I'm sorry Four" and then proceed to touch his back but before I can even go near it, he snatches my wrist, flips us over, maneuvers his body so some weight is on me so I can't escape but enough just so I can breathe, and holds both wrists tightly. When I look in his eyes, I see complete furry and a sort of madness. I look at him with shock and surprise. He blinks a couple times and then goes back to normal. He looks back at me with the same look of surprise and then suddenly gets off of me, leaving me flustered. He leaves the room, leaving me to pick up the mess we made when playing board games.

Once I grabbed all of the things my parents needed help with and brought them into the lake house, my parents came in, took all of our electronics, and assigned us rooms. Their number one rule: no boys or girls in the opposite gender's rooms. I settle all of my things into the room I have had since I was no taller than 3 feet. The girls rooms are in a 'postage stamp' shape while the boys are in the same shape, just one door down. Across the hall is Chris, to the left of me is Marlene and Shauna, and across from them is Lynn. Are all arrange our things and then go down to eat dinner. We decide to eat outside in the Adirondack chairs and watch the sunset. My parents decided to eat a 'romantic' dinner inside at the dining table so we were left alone. We ate the pasta in a peaceful silence as we watched the sunset. Before the sun officially went away, Chris and I started the campfire and retrieved the marshmallows, chocolate, and gram crackers from the pantry. We enjoyed our s'mores well into the night. Once it was dark, the fireflies came out and started buzzing all around the trees surrounding us.

"Tris, is the lake safe?" Shauna asked.

"What do you mean safe? Safe to swim in? Safe to jump in?" I questioned.

"Both," she replied, the fire reflecting off of her eyes.

"Um, well if you jump out from here, a couple feet out, you should be fine. There are only little fish over here," I said, looking at her strangely. "Why?"

"Oh no reason," she smirked and then stood up. She then proceeded to strip down to her undergarments and then jumped out to thew water, screaming all the way until we heard a splash.

Chris was next, jumping in as fast as she could. I laughed, watching the rest of my dumb friends jump in until it was just Four and I left. "Idiots," I muttered under my breath.

"Why? They're just having a little fun," he said while taking his shirt off and starting on his shorts.

"Because," I walked over to a tree on the side, tugging at a rope that was newly added. "This." I then stripped down just like Shauna had, ran with the rope, and jumped off of it. The water broke under me, leaving my skin freezing. When I went back to the surface, I heard Four laughing from above and then swinging himself down. A splash followed him and up he rose to the surface. All of us swam for a little while, the temperature becoming more bearable. When we were done, Lynn asked how we got back up, since we had practically jumped off a small cliff. I led them over to a man-made cave: to get in, you had to climb over some rocks separating the lake from the cave. Then, you would fall into a 'pool' in which had lights at the bottom to make it more realistic and was heated when needed. Finally, you would end up onto a beach in which there was a staircase in which led back to the house as well as a bin with towels in it. Everyone dried off and then walked up the stairs. (Sort of like the pic bellow- just a little though).

Once upstairs, we went back to the campfire to sit where we found my mom and dad sitting

Once upstairs, we went back to the campfire to sit where we found my mom and dad sitting. They both had beers in their hands and my dad had my guitar next to him.

"Ah, there you guys are. We came out to make sure that you didn't drown," my mom said sarcastically.

"Don't forget, we also came down to make sure the fire didn't burn down the house," my dad smirked at my mom.

"Well, Tris. How about you play us a song hun," my mom spoke as she handed me the guitar.

I reluctantly took the guitar and let out a weak "okay." After tunning it, I randomly strung the guitar strings for what seemed like hours until my dad suggested a song and told everyone to sing along. The night continued on like that until the fire had died and everyone was extremely tired. It was then that my mom put out the fire and told everyone to go to bed. We all trudged our way inside the house and collapsed onto our beds, instantly falling asleep. At least for me.
