"I don't understand, why are you going by Olegovna Shapovalov if your name is still legally Volkova?"
Lena asked, driving Yulia home that evening.
"Shapovalov is to avoid confusion about Ivan being my legal guardian. Olegovna is my middle name."
Yulia responded With a shrug before adding "I was kinda surprised that you didn't recognize me. I mean Aly recognized me right away!"
Lena glared over at her and retorted
"Yulia, you're only an inch shorter than me now and sun-kissed with a fucking nose ring and a tattoo. How was I suppose to know that it was you? Last I saw of you you where pale as hell and terrified of needles!"
Lena retorted, earning a sly grin.
"Well I guess I grew up in a year's time." She retorted before adding "but then again so have you. Back then you would have just cried your eyes out, not actually smacked the shit out of who hurt you."
Lena laughed at that and looked over at Yulia, who had ditched her pull over short sleeve vest to reveal that she was wearing a tanktop belly shirt, which showed off all the curves of her muscles and body.
Wow. She really did change.
Lena thought, remembering Yulia wearing oversized t-shirts and sweaters just a year prior.
"Hey, when you get overrun by a bunch of idiots you learn to fight."
Lena stated, earning a grimace from Yulia who just nodded.
"Touche."
Yulia muttered before adding as if it was an after thought
"Hey this friday we have an open mic night at the Grill. I will be performing....Maybe you should come. Bring whoever...Damen and steven or whoever. I remember you showing me your side of the city back then. Well let me show you my side of it...I promise you, it isn't as boring as some think."
Lena couldn't help but to laugh at Yulia's statement, knowing that that had to be true if Yulia had been telling the truth.
"Okay...Fine. As long as you don't take me to a strip club or some bullshit like that!"
Lena responded, earning a laugh.
"I'm not a pervert. Let's leave that to the fuck boys in this town, okay? I just want to hang out, It's been too long miss. Lose an Email address."
Lena stuck her tongue out at Yulia at that.
"I told you what happened!"
She argued earning a teasing smirk.
"Sure you did. If that was the case you could have looked me up on skype you know."
She stated, earning a wide eyed look.
"You have skype? You said you hated webcams!"
She stated, earning an eye roll.
"I hate them because the one I have is a piece of shit. Ivan keeps promising me he'll order me a better one but he has yet to do that."
Typical yulia.
"Okay fine, I'll look you up when I get home. Can I have your number? I'm sure that Ivan's not as picky about phone hours as your mother was."
Lena stated, earning a sigh.
"Sure, give me your cell and I'll put it in. I have a phone in my room so it's not a problem, not counting the cellphone I can barely work because my old one had a run in with a mop bucket full of water."
Yulia stated, blushing as Lena handed her the phone.
"You'll never change in some things Yulia."
Lena said, shaking her head at her friend's words.
"Shut up ginger-snap."
