Yulia was oddly quiet on the drive home, though Lena could easily see that something was bothering her.

"Yulia?"

She began though the brunette shook her head.

Just how the hell did Lumberjack know about Tammy? Lena has to think I'm some sort of Liar or something now....Though what I said was true, I punched her long before we started dating and she started that fight. Just what the hell is going on.

She wondered as she stared ahead, Her grip tightening on the steering wheel.

"Lena, I didn't hit Tammy. Not like that. We were at a party and we were both drunk as hell...she started running her mouth on me and my temper is horrible when I am drunk and we got into a fight. Months later we did date before she went to collage."

She stated, only to feel a hand lay on her forearm.

"Yulia, I believe you. You never lied to me. She has....a lot. But how did she know?"

Lena replied gently, earning a sigh

"I don't know unless she knew someone at the party or was there with someone."

Yulia responded softly before glancing over at her before adding "I'm glad that Anya was there, I would have hurt that girl badly if she hadn't ran her off."

Lena could hear the regret in Yulia's voice, almost as if she hated the idea of fighting.

"Well you didn't."

Yulia just nodded then sighed, her phone vibrating as she glanced down at it.

"Lena, answer it. It's Ivan, just tell him the truth."

Lena was unsure what to do but decided to just do it.

As he istened to Lena Ivan sighed, glaring up at the ceiling.

"I swear I am going to hang you two. Can you do me a favor and make sure Yulia doesn't do something stupid? She'll listen to you."

"How mad is he?"

Yulia asked, earning a laugh from Lena.

"Well enough that he is going back to bed and that he'll hang us tomorrow."

She stated, noticing the small smile on Yulia's face.

"That was all he said?"

She questioned, earning a nod.

"Thank god he's doesn't get angry easily."

Yulia sighed before adding "you must think I'm an idiot. Acting like a kicked puppy like this."

She muttered after a few minute, only to feel a hand on her arm, causing Yulia to glance over at her.

"I don't."

Lena argued earning a sigh.

"Bullshit. Everyone wonders why I am so afraid of him, even when I know I shouldn't be. He has never hit me...well not seriously anyway I mean we horse around but that's it. But I do have a reason....but it's not him."

Yulia stated, hair falling into her face as she slowed to a stop, pulling into a clearing off the side of the highway.

"Yulia, we don't have to talk about this."

Lena assured, though the brunette shook her head.

"No. You always asked me why I tried to kill myself back then but I never told you. I think you should know."

Yulia responded, her voice becoming void, taking on the same tone as it had a year before after her father had died.

Lena grew quiet, taking the brunette's hand. She couldn't stand hearing how broken she sounded though she knew that once Yulia set her mind to something, there was no stopping her. Not even when it hurt her.

"My mom...She was never really warm or open...Not like other people's mothers were but she wasn't cruel, you know? Sure she made me feel like an idiot but she wasn't harsh about it. But after Dad died....She had no reason to be...nice....anymore. It started the night we came home from the hospital....I couldn't sleep and she was awake. I went into the living room and I just....put my hand on her shoulder, Next thing I knew I could taste my own blood and I had a burning handprint across my face."

Yulia stopped then, her hand going to the spot as if the words brought back the pain.

"That's awful."

Lena began, earning a sigh from the dark haired girl who shook her head.

"The worse happened a few days after I came back to school. That quiz we took in algebra to see where we were at? I made a D on it because I couldn't focus. Man, did I pay for that one later that night."

She choked up then, having to pause to collect herself before continuing.

"She wouldn't listen....Called me a lair. Said that....That I was an embarrassment, that she wished she never had me. Then, if that wasn't enough....She hit me."

Lena could barely believe this though that would explain how she had flinched at the slightest of touch.

"You should have told...." Lena began, earning a look.

"Have you ever been hit with a belt repeatedly until your skin was so raw you could barely move? I was fucking afraid of her Lena. Then people kept blaming me for Dad's death and I...I had enough. In my mind I didn't have anyone...I figured you'd grow tired of being friends with the freak and leave me alone. I figured death would be a better fate than that! I was so afraid of being completely alone."

She was opening crying how, her whole body shaking as she was consumed by emotions. However suddenly she became aware of arms wrapping around her, the familiar touch comforting to say the least.

"I'll never leave you; no matter what. You are my best friend first of all."
