Yulia could feel everyone staring at her though she ignored them, even the whispers. After all, why should she care what a bunch of idiots say when she was happy with who she was?
"I thought you was dead!" One boy stated, laughing as he imitated a cutting motion over his arm, the reminder making Yulia's covered wrist itch slightly with phantom pains.
"Fuck off."
She growled, walking by only to have him grab her arm.
"What did you say to me you freak?"
He began though suddenly he could just taste blood and she was walking away.
Ivan was sitting at the bar, preparing for the mid day rush when he got a phone call from the school, causing him to groan.
Yulia Volkova, what have you done now?
He wondered, answering the phone.
She was sitting on a bench waiting outside for him when he pulled up, looking almost pitiful.
I really want to punch the hell out of her mother when she gets like that. Why the hell does she expect me to hit her yell every single time she does something stupid?
He wondered, getting out.
"What happened? Do I have to go inside to talk to someone?"
He asked with a sigh, earning only a nod.
And here's the walls going up.
"Why don't you go ahead and head home? I'm not driving your metal trap."
He suggested, knowing that he wouldn't get any more answers for now.
"Okay."
Her voice was barely above a whisper as she spoke, getting up and moving toward the parking lot.
Ivan sighed shaking his head as he walked in.
Yulia was sitting in the dark of her room when he came home, bike parked haphazardly in the lot behind the restaurant.
"You know one of us are going ot have to move that thing before someone runs it over."
He stated, leaning up against her door before he added
"Quick question, was the guy you sucker punched Victor or one of the other idiots who attacked you before?"
He knew she was terrified of screwing up, though he didn't know why but figured it was due to her mother whom she did not talk about, even when asked.
"One of them who mugged me behind the school."
Her voice was broken and frail, enough that he closed the distance between them and took a seat by her on the bed.
"I think had that been me in your place I would have done more than split his lip."
Ivan responded, putting a hand on her shoulder, though he noticed how she flinched before settling against his side.
"You've been given a day of suspension as warning. Though I think you'll just spend that time playing those damn games you keep me up all night with."
she looked up at him then and even though the room was dimly lit he could tell she had been crying.
"So you're not mad?"
She asked, earning a look that clearly said 'really?'
"For defending yourself? You'll have to do more than that to make me mad, Rebel girl. Now go get cleaned up, You did promise Lena you'd go over after school right? You have a few hours wait but I'm sure you don't want to go looking like a Coon with mascara running down your face."
