Yulia didn't come to school monday or the day after that, though Lena did see her at the funeral though Yulia only stayed in the church for a few minutes before rushing out and disappearing altogether.
On Thursday when Yulia finally returned she was like a robot, just moving on a pre-programed data that left no room for emotion or response. Even when the other's jeered at her she drifted on, not even so much as offering them a glance.
Lena watched this, feeling though she was sitting by a hologram of the girl that she had became best friends with.
Yulia was walking home, chosing not to take the bus because of it being over crowded with assholes. She knew deep down that she shouldn't have blew Lena off but she knew that now, like so many times before that it would be better for her to be alone, even if it meant that she lost the one friend that she had.
Sighing she headed into her house, finding her mother sleeping on the couch again, causing her to sigh.
The whole house was quiet, no tv or nothing playing which she found odd since for the last week nothing but gospel music was playing.
Silently heading up to her room she tossed her backpack onto the bed before shutting her door and locking it, despite knowing that her mother wouldn't't disturb her. Sighing she turned her attention to the computer, deleting the array of emails that she had gotten from the many online RPGs that she played when she saw a dozen or more notifications from myspace, causing her to sigh.
What the fuck do these idiots want?
She wondered as she clicked on it and signed in, seeing an array of posts.
I heard about your Dad. What happened, did he get tired of living with a freak?
That should have been you.
I heard you didn't even go to the funeral, I bet you're glad he's dead.
I bet you didn't even cry, you always were an emotionless freak.
yulia hit the exit so hard that it broke the mouse before she buried her face into her hands.
What do they know?
She thought bitterly, tears overfilling for what seemed to be the ten millionth time that week.
I can't live like this. Mom more or less avoids me or jeers at me worse than those bastards at school. Dad's gone. I can't go on living this way.
She thought before getting up and going into the bathroom, retrieving the box cutter from beneath the sink before muttering.
"Mama, Papa, forgive me."
Before allowing herself to plunge the blade deep into her wrist, watching as the crimson liquid flowed out until the world went black.
She woke up in a solid white room, the annoyIng beep of a heart monitor telling her that she was in a hospital.
What the hell? How did I get here? How did they find me?
she thought though suddenly she heard a pair of voices outside the door.
"How I see it if she's dumb enough to send her soul to hell then she might as wells do it!"
"Listen to yourself! That's your daughter in there! If you hadn't completely shut her out she wouldn't be laying in there! You're just lucky I stopped by to check on you two or she would have died!"
Yulia felt a knot form in her throat
So she really don't care.
She thought before hearing Ivan's voice.
Wait....He's the one who found me?
When the door opened it was Ivan who looked livid until he saw that Yulia was awake.
"You heard all of that huh?"
He sighed, earning a nod for her throat was too dry to speak.
"Damn it Yulia, do you know how worried I was? How worried Lena was when she called your cell? I don't want to be the person to tell anyone else that someone they care about dies!" He stated, sounding tired.
"I wish that I had died. It would be easier for everyone and at least then I'd be with Dad."
She muttered, earning a sigh.
"Yulia, he wouldn't want you to kill yourself even if you do get to see him again. Look, I know things aren't easy for you and hell...your mother doesn't help. You'll be sixteen soon right? You can choose who you want to live with legally. Why don't you come live with me? You can work for me in the shop and you won't have to change schools if you don't want to."
He offered, earning a sigh.
"I don't want to finish year out."
She muttered, earning a sigh.
"Then you can get a tutor. We can do whatever it takes to get you through this Yulia. It's what your father would want."
Yulia was half asleep when a knock came at the door, prompting her to look up to see Lena standing there, eyes and nose red and looking like she hadn't slept.
"Hey...feel like company?"
The redhead asked, earning a sigh.
"Yeah."
She stated with a sigh before sitting up, wincing as she put her weight on her sore hand.
An uneasy silence drifted between them until Yulia spoke again.
"My mom doesn't care. I over heard her and Ivan arguing earlier so I'm moving to the west end of the city with him. I won't be finishing up the school year with you...I'm sorry."
She stated, looking down.
"Hey, we still have the email chat thing right? We can keep in touch like that." Lena responded
