Farkle Minkus' POV

"You all have timeouts when we get home! I cannot believe you did this to me! I'm sticky, and we got banned from ever setting foot in Dairy Queen again!"

"But Daddy-"

"That's enough, Zoey! You followed the miniature Maya Hart over there, and you threw ice cream at your own father! That is very irresponsible and bad of you."

As much as I'm infuriated with them all, it brings me pain to yell at my own kids. But they can't just get away with attacking me with frozen desserts.

I mean, I get that this is a stressful times for the Friars, as they don't know what's happened to their Father. But why on the entire planet would they take it out on me? Why not a stuffed bear?

The rest of the drive home was silent, and the a few of the kids were crying.

Goodness, I feel so bad.

The kids crying are Isaac, Zoey, Grace, and Aaryn.

I pull up at the apartment, and the kids follow me upstairs.

"Honey, I'm home!" I yell to Riley.

She surprisingly is off the couch, eating chocolate covered peanuts, her craving, and planning something out on a sheet of paper.

"Hey!" Riley yells back. "You ready to get married in a month and a half?"

"Uhh..." I reply. "I'll get back to you on that. I've got some things to deal with."

Riley gets up as I send the kids to different rooms.

Elizabeth's got her Mom's room.

Isaac has his Mom's bathroom.

Zoey's in Shawn and Katie's room.

And Aaryn is in the main bathroom.

"What happened to you?" She asks, staring at myself and the twins.

"Four children, ice cream, and a smoothie."

"Oh."

We take the twins to the bathroom, and make Aaryn sit in the living room.

She runs he water for a bath, and I stick the twins in it.

"You're really sticky, Farkle, don't touch me."

"Sorry."

"So I'm planning on booking something for April."

Farkle sighs. "Honey, that's in like a month. Don't you want to like... wait? Till we're like a twenty?"

Riley laughs. "You want me to wait two and a half years?"

"Well ya, we're in grade 12."

"Then why'd you propose to me?"

I knew I'd have to answer this question very carefully. One wrong word could make Riley's hormones go so crazy that she'd be untameable.

I really wouldn't want that to happen.

"Because," I reply. "I love you, and I you and the world to know."

It takes her a second, but then she smiles at me.

"I love you too, Farkle. I really do. I think I always have."

I smile at her, "I've been waiting for that for longer than you know."

And it's true.

Meet Farkle Minkus, grade seven.

He's nerdy, wears turtlenecks, and has a very weird haircut.
