"When is he coming home?!" Elizabeth asks, jumping on my bed.
"I don't know, now if you could stop bouncing for a second I can phone him."
"Can't we just see him?" She asks.
"Ya, that works too."
"Yes!" Lizzy squeals, jumping off the bed. "Isaac!"
I smile to myself, putting on my red New York sweatshirt.
"Mama! Mama!"
"Gracey! Gracey!" I repeat, in a high toned pitch. "You ready to see Dadda?"
"Dadda?" She asks.
"Yes! Dadda!"
"Dadda!" Grace squeals, clapping her hands.
I quickly change her, and put jeans and a blue shirt on her, and let her crawl free.
"Next!"
Isaac comes running in, wearing one of the few toys we'd been able to buy him since the fire.
A cowboy hat.
"Hello madam!"
"Hey Huckleberry Junior," I reply with a smile. "You ready to brush your teeth?"
"Ya!"
We walk to my bathroom, and I brush his teeth.
"Next child!"
No kid.
"Bethany come here to Mamma!"
Bang. Bang. Bang.
My chubby little Bethany comes crawling in, and I dress her in the same outfit as Grace, except her shirt is purple instead of blue.
"Is that everyone?"
"As far as I know," Elizabeth answers. "Unless you had another kid overnight."
"Enough with the disrespect, missy."
She's been having a problem with respect, and has picked a lot of sarcasm from me. I've finally begun to take care of that, since her situation with Farkle a couple of weeks ago.
I file my Zoo out the door and into my Mother's car, with that, we drive to the hospital.
"Momma!"
"Yes, Bethie?"
"Foow! Foow!"
Foow, is Bethany's words for Food, as it's still hard for the seven month piggy to say.
"Oh cra-" I begin. "I mean, oh no! We didn't have breakfast!"
"McDonalds!"
"No," I reply quickly. "McDonalds is so unhealthy."
"But we want the toys!" Elizabeth yells. "They have cute little doggy stuffies in the happy meals!"
Whenever the kids talk about toys, they pull on my heart strings.
The only thing that made it out of that fire was our family.
Lucas barely made it out.
"McDonalds doesn't give out toys until lunch time... so we can get lunch there. For breakfast, we can quickly stop at Denny's."
"Yay!"
We make a forty minute stop at Denny's, eating pancakes and sausages and such.
And of course, I let the kids take their crayons and papers home.
