"No." Kirren snapped. "We are druid. And in our world you aren't even allowed to talk to men without them addressing you first. Now be a good little druid and stay quiet." "Excuse me?" I snapped. I wasn't gonna let him take me away from Sev. "Now listen here Mister, I did NOT choose to be druid. I do not have to be here. You're here as Professor Dumbledore's guest to assist in teaching me about myself and strengthen my powers before the first task. Now if you think you can pull some 'stay a good little druid' shit with me, then you're sorely mistaken. I will have no trouble going up to Dumbledore himself and requesting that he makes you leave because you are harrassing me and my BOYFRIEND!" This I could not hold back. Oh shit. Triple shit. I called Sev my boyfriend. Taking a sideways glance at Severus's reaction to me calling him my boyfriend I noticed he was smirking. Phew. "How dare you-" Hachurui started. And no I won't call him Kirren anymore unless he starts showing me respect. "No! How dare you! I suggest you keep your filthy snakes away from me and start teaching me something valuable before I leave in content never to speak to you again." I wasn't sure where this speech came from. But I guess it was a good thing. Who on Earth would allow this thing to control them? It was disgusting, Druid or not. "Very well Raven. I see your point and I admit my defeat... though if I may give you this beforehand, seeing as I will obviously not be continuing the line of druids." He paused reaching from his pocket a ring? Or more precisely, a Snake ring. "You're not proposing to me are you!?" The words fell from my mouth. "No, you have made it quite clear you will not accept any of that." He said placing the ring on my righthand's ring finger. Thank Merlin. "What is it?" I asked trying to pull it off, but it wouldn't budge. "Not something I can say. You must work it out on your own. Sning has been in my family for years." He said. "Sning?" He nodded once. I eyed him hesitantly before relaxing and nodding. "Very well. What will you teach me?" "Well speaking to animals you have no problem with; so I'm assuming your metamorphmagus is under control? Say, could you shift into something " he said asking rather politely, for once. Again nodding, I shifted into my usual pup form running to Sev and rolling on my back. He leaned down to pet my stomach. Then I shifted into a green snake and slithered up Sev's arm much like Kirren's snakes do. Kirren chuckled. I slithered down and then shifted into a mighty lion and roared at Kirren before shifting into a badger and an eagle. Sev caught on to my fun. As I shifted back to... well... me, I smiled. That was fun. Kirren seemed to be amazed. "Anywho about my druid powers." I cut to the chase. "Yes well as much as you know so far, Druids are earth creatures. Our powers usually consist of healing, speaking to animals and earth bending. As you know, there are 4 elements. Earth, Water, Fire and Air. Most Druids are able to control 1 or 2 elements perfectly. Very rarely will you find someone able to control 3. But so far the fourth has been quite difficult to control, Air. There hasn't been a druid capable of doing it for half a century! So far you have been practicing Earth. I myself have mastered Fire and Water so with Earth I cannot help much. I can teach you Fire and Water however, which may give you some insight on how to control Earth but other than that I cannot help you further. Now let's get this going!" He said. He seemed more excited. We walked in the opposite direction of the cabin, to a large lake. Severus also followed, interested and, I presume, slightly worried about me being around Kirren. "I'll show you first and explain how I do it and then maybe you can try." Kirren said. He raised his hands to the water gently and calmly as if talking to an old friend. His movements were smooth but it seemed that, due to the instant reaction from the water, he would be able to control it under any circumstance. He made the water shoot up in the air as though it were three separate vines from the ground. Then he made them form a ball in the air. This is cool! Then carefully, he allowed the water to flow back into the lake. This water... acted like a friend. "There you are. So you probably noticed that the water is an old friend of mine. I am self-taught and the water had to put up with me so I guess we had to be friends one way or another. When I move the water it's as if I am speaking to it, but not from my mouth, from my soul. You can feel the magic surround you calmly as if it were water in a beautiful lake or a calm river. Perhaps you could try?" I nodded slightly nervous. "Okay..." I raised my hands to the water allowing the magic to surround me as Kirren said. I thought of the water rising in three vines as Kirren had done before and ever so slowly three little sprouts surfaced the flat water. I thought of them rising up higher and they did so. I was proud of myself. I thought of the ' water vines' moving into a ball, once again like Kirren. It worked!! At least I can do something. ~Squeeze~ I screamed and dropped the water, drenching us all. The squeeze came from the ring. Sning? ~Squeeze~ "What the fuck?" I cursed. "Raven, are you okay?" Sev came to me soaked in water. He grabbed his wand ready to dry me but Kirren had already lifted his hands, removing every drop of water from our bodies. Now my hair was frizzy. Pocketing his wand, Sev turned back to me. "Are you okay?" He asked, concern in his eyes. I glared at Kirren. "What the fuck did you make this ring do? It-" He cut me off. "You must never tell anyone what it does. They must learn themselves." He said. I gave him an 'are you fucking kidding me' look and he just nodded. "You're doing well with the water, perhaps I'll go and come back tomorrow, I will teach you fire then." Kirren said taking his Snakes with him. They had not bothered me since I yelled at him. Good. "Raven? Are you okay? Perhaps I'll take you to the cabin." He said walking towards the cabin. I couldn't keep up so I shifted into my pup form and ran ahead of him to the cabin. It seemed that this ring was on me no matter what, though in this form it was around my neck like a collar. It looked more normal. I guess that's just the magic of the ring. I had reached the cabin before Severus so I decided to check out the ring. Attempting to pull it off was futile. It wouldn't budge. So you won't come off my finger? ~Squeeze~ Are you glued to my finger? ~Squeeze Squeeze~ This seemed to mean no. So when you squeeze, one squeeze is yes and two is no? ~Squeeze~ Do you ever do more than two squeezes? ~Squeeze~ So if I asked a question that couldn't be answered with a Yes or No you'd squeeze me three times? ~Squeeze~ Or what if I asked you a question like, what's the factor of three and seven? The ring was hesitant ~Squeeze Squeeze Squeeze~ Hey! The answer's not three! ~Squeeze~ Oh! You mean you're not good at math? ~Squeeze~ The ring seemed ashamed. That’s okay Sning! You're cute! ~Squeeze!~ Sning seemed happy with this comment. Can you do any other stuff? ~Squeeze~ Like what? ~Squeeze Squeeze Squeeze~ Oh that’s right, I have to ask you Yes or No questions. ~Squeeze~ So I'll work it out later? ~Squeeze~ At that moment Sev walked in. "You look happy Raven." He mused coming towards me and wrapping his arms around my waist. I smiled and wrapped mine around his neck "I finally worked out Sning!" Sev frowned. "I don't trust Mr Hachurui. Let me see the ring." He asked. I held out my hand and he muttered a spell under his breath. Nothing happened. Still slightly sceptical, he eyed the ring a bit longer. "Very well, the ring he gave you contains no evil. I guess it's safe." I could have asked him myself. Sning, are you evil? ~Squeeze Squeeze~ Good. I smiled back up at Sev and gave him a peck on the lips. Where did all this confidence come from? ~Squeeze Squeeze Squeeze~ I laughed. It was a rhetorical question yet he still answered. Sev looked at me like I was a mad lunatic. I laughed again dismissing it. "Very well, I'm going to make some coffee. Do you want some?" My eyes lit up. "Yes!!" He gave a small smirk and went to the kitchen to make some. Shortly after, Sev came back with two mugs of coffee. Drinking it calmly I realised, there's water in the mug... Can I bend this too? ~Squeeze~ Cool! I placed the mug down and attempted to form the ball that Kirren had earlier. The water rose up in three miniature vines and made a small ball the size of a golden snitch. Then, ever so gently, I placed it down into the mug. It didn't go everywhere this time. Sev looked at me and smiled. I could do this! "Sev? Can we go back to the lake? I wanna practice some more." "Sure" he said. But this time he picked me up so I couldn't run away. Reaching the lake I smiled. Pulling out a tiny bucket from one of my endless pockets, I enlarged it and practiced moving the water into the bucket and back. Continuing this for the rest of the day, I had managed to eventually do it one handed and if I strained enough, with one finger. Soon I should be able to do it with mind! That would come in handy. Before leaving, I thanked the water (like the weirdo I am) but then again, being patient enough to allow me to play with it for the whole day, I owed it something. Sev was proud and showed me by giving me a kiss as soon as we got back to our chambers. Well, I could live with that any day. ~ Hey guys. Okay with Sning. Hes the cutest ring out! So i dunno if many of you picture it like me but yeah enjoy!!! Also Sning is a Snake Ring so his name was given because of the 'Sn' from snake and 'ing' from ring so yeah ✌ Note: as cute as he is, he's not mine. I got the idea from Piers Anthony and his Amazing book series 'The incarnations of immortality' ( not on wattpad.) You should check it out. Ill leave the link to the 1st book in the next chapter.
