The next day went by like a flash.
went to school, and I had to pick up my check afterwards then head back home to get interviewed by Jan. It was gonna be fun.

When I got home, I made some finger sandwiches for a snack while I wait for Janet. My mother was still working and only Towanda was home. Once I had put some sandwiches on a plate , I went to make some lemonade. Just as I was bringing from the kitchen, there was a knock at the door. I answer it, then I smiled politely as I saw Janet standing there.  "Hey Janet, come in." I said stepping aside, and letting her in. She looked so pretty in her long sleeve white shirt and jeans.. her pink lipstick made her lips look so lovely. She came in with a smile and looked around. We walked over to the couch and sat down.

"Your home is very cozy, I can see your mother enjoys decorating, very niiice."

That she does, I made us some snacks. Just some finger sandwiches and Lemonade. She looked and nod with a smile.

" It looks good. I am a little hungry and I love fresh lemonade " she grabbed the cup and took a sip.

"Mmmm.. Toni this is good.. made good Lemonade. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Just right." I smiled with satisfaction as she grabbed a snack and bite into it. "And this is good too."

"Thanks. I love to cook and make things. I do a lot of that in my spare time. When I'm not working that is."

She nods as she uses one the napkins to clean off her hands and got out her notebook.

"True, well that's something I didn't need to take note of. You ready to get started?"

"Yes I am. Let the interviewing begin." I said as I grabbed a cup then turned to Jan. Then we got started. I was pretty much just telling her my life. Living with 6 other siblings with strict, deeply religious parents. Things I liked to do, my interests, And just a lot of things. Janet seemed intrigued the entire time with my responses and it was very interesting.

"Your mother and my father sound like first cousins. And ironic how her maiden name is Jackson but no relation.. I... couldn't imagine not being able to listen any type of music. I love music. I'm...pretty sure.. you sneak to listen to some..."

"I do. I know some artist like Anita Baker, Marvin Gaye, and a few others..

Wow... well hey, when you do my interview, I'll play some records. Bring you up to date with some of the new music." Janet said as she was writing and then she looked over me.

"You got a little rebel in your bones I see."

"Well, I'm not a kid, and being the oldest. I feel trapped sometimes, music is my only escape."

"I can understand how you feel and it's the same for me.. you know something Toni? " She placed her pencil down and focused on me. I. just.. can't see how anyone could bully you. You're pleasant, sweet, and a breath of fresh air to be around. People should get to know you and they'll see your a nice girl. People are so quick to judge with even getting know a person."

"Janet, that's very nice of you. And well, I don't let that bother me. It's their lose, not mine. Right?"

"That's right." she nodded with a smile, and stretched a bit. "I think I got enough info to type up my paper tonight. What day are you free to do mine?"
