Janet

Once I landed in Atlanta I had gotten in the back of the car that my driver was waiting for me in, and I took my shades off as I looked over at Liyah. I couldn't believe she came with me even though we'd live separately of course. I already had an apartment here in Atlanta, so I didn't have to worry about a Hotel or anything. And until Aaliyah gets her place situated she's going to be staying with me which won't be longer than a week.

"You ready Jan?" She asked as she sat up from her slouched position against the door. A pierced grin appeared on her face. I couldn't help the butterflies that remained floating in my stomach the entire ride. Just knowing I was going to be seeing Toni sooner than later just had my body overly excited, anxious, nervous, and horny all in one. It's insane, and it's so many emotions at once.

"I am, readier than ever. I miss her so much." I said softly as I was glancing out at nothing as I thought about seeing her reaction when I appear on her doorstep.

"I can tell, you haven't been saying much so I can tell it's heavy on your mind. But in a real deep, mental way. But Jan, I wanna ask you something. Are you sure she still feels the same way about you? I mean...you're my best friend, I don't want you to be excited to get hurt. That'll kill you, and I know it. Are you sure the feelings are mutual?" She continued as she was just speaking crazy, that was a good question, but I knew where I stood with Toni because of the promises we made to each other. I had no doubt in my mind that the love she had for me hadn't faded away.

"Only because you've never met Toni, and you haven't seen us together I won't slap you right now. Because Toni and I made a promise to each other, and yeah, we were kids, but we knew what we wanted. And we wanted each other, we knew that the day I came back would be the start of the rest of our lives together."

"I'm glad your so sure about her, and your love for one another. That make me so happy. But if you slap me we're fighting." She said jokingly but half serious as she gave me a look, I gave her the finger then told the driver to turn the radio station and turn the music up. The whole ride to the grocery store near my apartment. We had to get some things to eat before we retired in and got settled. I most likely wasn't going to see Toni until tomorrow morning mainly because I wanted to go fresh and early and not so late in the evening. Plus, I had to find out where she lived, and a few other things. But I truly did have a day ahead of me tomorrow.

The next morning, I woke up and ate a quick breakfast with a nice glass of orange juice and then I headed out and slipped my shades on right before I got in my car. I was driving to the neighborhood I remembered all too well, but things did look different. Just remodeled buildings, and new surroundings. It looked nice and felt great to be back in my old neighborhood. I turned down the street Toni's childhood home was, and as soon as I approached the house I recognized how different it looked. It was remodeled and looked like it had been expanded. It was beautiful, and I saw a car parked outside so I pulled in next to it and got out and walked up towards the door. As soon as I was about to knock on the door it opened, and I was face to face with Ms. Evelyn. She had on a blouse, with slacks, and a nice pair of red bottom heels. She looked so sharp, and her makeup was flawless. She looked so different, and not in a bad way at all.

"Janet? Hello Sweetie, how are you?!" She exclaimed as she pulled me into a hug and rocked me side to side. I was squeezing her in the hug, she smelled amazing and her spirit was so bright now. Last time I really had a conversation with her it was so long ago, and I just didn't know that this would be her reaction.
