Janet

I was up getting ready for some meeting my father had set up for me. He wanted to get me in the studio, and make an album but he was also looking for producers he thought would best fit for me. I collaborated with my brothers once before, but never worked on anything of my own. I wasn't really interested in making music, but I was only doing it because my father suggested it. It was kinda cool I guess, dancing was what I was looking forward to the most.

"Janet...Come and eat breakfast before you go." My mother said peeking into my room as I was sitting at my vanity, I had took the rollers out of my hair, teased and fixed it up, then put lip balm onto my lips. "Okay mother." I get up once I was done, and I grab my bag, my handheld radio, and my headphones. I head downstairs to the dining room, and I sat down.

"This food looks delicious, I'm starving." I said as I silently pray and then after saying amen I start to eat. I enjoyed my breakfast as well as my morning talk with my mother. Once I finished my father and I headed over to the meeting place. To mostly discuss my record deal, and how everything's going to go from the moment I sign the contract.

The business part was always the most boring because your not actually in the studio, your negotiating with people of a higher position than you, and your signing a ton of paperwork. And not actually doing the work.

The meeting last for about two hours, and once I was out of there I was now starting my career with my father as my manager. I thought things were going to be just fine, if my dad was managing me. Nothing could go wrong...I hope.

When I got home I was in good spirits and wanted to tell Toni the good news. So I called her house phone, and surprisingly this time she answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey you!" I said excitedly as I lean against the wall.

Her tone immediately perked up. "Heyyy, I was just thinking about you. How did the meeting go?"

"I was thinking about you too, all morning. And...that's why I was calling you. They signed me... I got the record deal!" I said excitedly as I was playing with the phone cord. Twirling my finger around it as I spoke.
