"I can't believe it either, and this ring...it's to die for !" I was saying to my friend Marie on the phone. She was my bestie/hairstylist so we were gossiping and making plans. I was on the bed, looking down at my hand with this beautiful diamond ring on my finger. Smiling my ass off. Jan was on the couch downstairs napping for a minute with diez. I had already taken a sneak picture and everything.
"So I guess since you'll be becoming a Jackson now, it means a big wedding? Doves, big decorations... all that huh Toni? Cause we all know how extra you can be." Marie said with a snicker and I scoff at her comment.
"Marie... man come on now.
Maybe not doves but I haven't thought that deep jussst yet. My mother is the only family member that knows right now. I have to get them here to tell them soon. But you know how they are. " I said getting up and about to walk upstairs.
"You better or you know those sisters of yours..
but Toni I'm about to drive I'll talk to you in a bit. I'll be coming through later on !"
"Can't wait, see you soon." I said as Marie and I hung up.
I put my phone in my sweat pants pocket and went downstairs. Janet and Diezel were knocked out like they were both working 12 hours jobs. I knew Janet was tired because she'd been doing a lot lately. Out early mornings and coming back mid day already drained. She said she had some good news that she wanted to share with me later on. I came to turn off the television and I guess that woke Janet up.
"Damn...how long was I sleeping?" She said in a groggy, half sleeping voice.
"About 2 hours, and you have a nap buddy on your chest. Probably needs a diaper change.." I said as I gently take diez. He moved a bit but didn't wanna wake up just yet. Then I kissed Janet's lips.
"And your phone was ringing not too long ago. Twice. I'll be back after I change diez." I said walking to the stairs. I take diez to his room, get him changed and freshened up. By now, he was up staring at me with those sweet little eyes. Once we came back down, I put him in his little bouncy chair and seen that Janet was sitting up. More awake now, and looking refreshed.
"Babe.. I'm glad you told me I got a phone call. That was Aaliyah. She's coming over for a bit. To see us. And to talk." Jan said as she pulled me down gently on her lap and kissed my neck.
