Janet
I was awaken out of my deep sleep by someone lightly shaking me. My eyes flutter open to see my brother Michael's face smiling down at me.
"Hey Dunk, good morning." he said as I rose up, and immediately hugged him. I had missed him dearly, he was out touring so much so he hardly had time to stop home. His aroma was so inviting, that was one thing I loved about my brother. No matter what we went through, he was my brother and I was always going to be his supportive little sister. And be there for him through it all.
"Miiikeee!" I squealed as I had my arms around his neck, damn near choking him. He rubbed my back as he giggled, and we rocked side to side.
"Good gosh Janet, your much stronger than you look." He said as I finally released him from my grip.
"Yeah because I'm not weak...did you just get here?" I asked as I got out of bed, and went to the bathroom to quickly brush my teeth, and wash my face. I knew I looked like a nightmare with my scarf nowhere on my head. I was such a wild sleeper some nights.
"Like two hours ago. I came straight here, ate a bowl of frosted flakes then I came up to wake you." He said with a small smile on his face as he approached the door, just leaning against it as I dry my face. He looked so happy.
"I figured you ate before doing anything. And how long are you back for?" I asked as I walked past him, and started to make up my bed.
"For a week, and I plan on spending the entire week with you guys. So I hope your prepared for a week of fun. Especially since next Monday is your first day of your senior year!" He said as he grabbed the basketball I had in the corner of my room, and started to toss it lightly in his hands.
"Awesome...and man...this summer flew by so fast. And of course I'm prepared. Can I bring someone with us on an outing someday this week?" I asked as I fluff my pillows then I go into my closet, and I started to look for something to wear for today.
"Sure, you bringing Lanette?" Michael asked, because he knew that Lanette was my best friend, but he hadn't been here to learn that she moved away so she was no longer here. But we kept in contact every now, and then.
"No Lanette moved away, her mother was promoted, and the position was hers if she moved to the state she was needed. So she took it, and they left literally the next day." I said feeling a bit sad about that, Lanette, and I were extremely close. Meeting Toni, and falling for her kinda distracted me from thinking about it. But now it's like a wave of emotions immediately came over me. But I was glad Lanette, and her family were going to live better. And I was happy for them, I just missed my ace.
"Awww...I'm sorry Janet." He said as I walked out of my closet, and I placed my clothes across my bed.
"I'm okay, we still talk on the phone, when we can. But I'm bringing someone else." I said as I wait for him to ask, cause I knew the question was coming sooner or later.
"Are you bringing the preachers daughter?" He asked, and I immediately turn around to face him with my mouth open. Mother must have told him before he even got here. And that kinda made me a little upset, I wanted to be the first to tell my brother about my girlfriend before he hears someone else's perspective. And with it being my mom he heard it from, aint no telling what she told him.
