Was it meant to be? (a Mingus Reedus love story)

chapter nine

It was Thursday afternoon, me and Mayzie were in her bedroom picking out clothes to wear tomorrow. Mayzie had a ton of shirts, dresses, shoes, and pants. My favorite colors are silver, grey, red, forest green, and navy blue. Mayzie decided on a light purple dress with a white bow. She picked out black flats for shoes. I decided on a simple dark grey v neck t-shirt and black skinny jeans. I picked out black high top converse for shoes. Mayzie started laughing at what I picked out. I asked "What's so funny?" she said "That's a bit tomboyish looking, don't ya think?' I said "No I think it looks good." Mayzie then started laughing again. I then said "Well at least I don't wear short dresses all the time." I started laughing but she stopped and she said "Don't make fun of my babies." really soft and we both started laughing. The thing about me and Mayzie is we can insult each other and we laugh about it. We have never gotten in a fight well except for the one time when I said I was going to marry Norman Reedus but she wanted to marry him. We both knew that both of us would never marry him, but we pretended. We ended up with me marry Norman's son, Mingus and Mayzie got Norman. Our parents even bought us little fake rings that looked like wedding rings. It was really funny to us but to everyone else we looked crazy. I didn't really knew who Mingus was until I asked Mazyie if I could looked him up on Google. He had blonde hair and he looked a lot younger than me and Mayzie but I found out that he was fourteen years old. I was fourteen and I really liked Mingus. After I looked up Mingus, I said to  Mayzie  "Wow I'm actually kind of happy I got him, he's really cute!" Mayzie said "Well I think they live in New York. You could probably meet him somewhere if you got really lucky." I started laughing because I knew my cousin Anthony lived in New York. Mayzie asked what I was laughing about and I said "My cousin lives in New York, maybe I could go stay with him and see if I am lucky." Mayzie then said "Rach, I don't think you'll meet him. He's probably with his dad somewhere in the world." I said " I know but I've never been to New York anyways and I haven't seen Anthony since I was like 7 years old. It'd be cool to see him again and he could show me around." Mayzie smiled and said "You're taking me then too. I want to see the empire state building!" I started laughing and said "BROADWAY SHOWWWW!!!" we both started laughing cause if there was one thing I talked about a lot, it was Broadway. Ever since I was about five years old, I wanted to be an actress and be in plays on Broadway. My mom always supported my dream, she said she believed that I could do anything if I worked hard for it. I was once in a cereal commercial when I was six years old. It was wasn't for a cereal like Coco puffs, or Lucky Charms, it was a cereal that only our city had. Heck I can't even remember the name they stopped selling it a year after the commercials. A lot of people recognized me from that commercial, I was noticed at school and my teachers would ask me questions like ' was I nervous? Or was I forced to do it?' My mom had to take me out of school and start homeschooling me cause other kids parents were saying nasty things to me for some reason. My mom never understood it cause it was only three commercials and we got about eight hundred and fifty dollars for all three. people said I was spoiled, my family was living in a trailer park at the time and I would always get mad when someone told me I was spoiled because I didn't have anything. We barely had enough money to get groceries and too pay bills. I had a stuffed teddy bear my grandma had given me, before she passed. I was very sad at the funeral, she had gotten in a car wreck a week before and she lost her arm from the crash, she lost a lot of blood from that and she died before the ambulance had came. I wasn't aloud to see her in the casket. I was only 7 years old.
