Chapter eighteen

I had to stay the night in the hospital. The doctor took some more tests. If i felt better tomorrow i could go home, me and Mayzie were supposed to go to New York tomorrow. I forgot to text Mayzie and tell her what was going on. I went to look for my phone when I relized I left it at home. I looked over at my mom who was texting one of her friends. I asked her "Hey can I use your phone to text Mayzie." My mom nodded and handed me her phone.

After i was done texting Mayzie. I asked my mom if I could get something to eat. She told me "Hun I don't think your stomach is strong enough." I said "I'm really hungry though." She said "Well I'll go ask the doctor if you can have something small." I smiled and said "Ok thank you." My mom then walked out of the room and I grabbed her phone again, I started going thru her messages to see if she was talking to someone about me. Sure enough she was talking to my grandma and my mom said she was worried that the doctors didn't know what was wrong with me. My heart sank, i started crying cause even my mom didn't know what was wrong. I was fine one day then extremely sick the next. I tried getting up off my bed but everytime i tried to move something started beeping really loud and a nurse would come in to see if everything was ok. I started getting mad because I didn't want to lay down anymore.

My mom came in with some jello and a banana. I didn't like jello at all, and bananas tasted weird. I ate them both and I guess the look on my face was funny cause my mom kept laughing while I was eating. When i was done my doctor came in with a smile on his face. He closed the door and looked at me and said "Well good news, we found out what was wrong." I said "What is it then?" He said "You ate something bad and whatever it was had a bit of poison in it." My stomach kind of dropped and I asked "Will I be ok then?" He said "Oh yeah, we're just gonna have to give you some shots and you'll have to take 2 pills everyday for the next two weeks." He then walked out of the room and I looked over at my mom. She looked a bit worried and I asked her "What's wrong?" She then shook her head and I said "Mom it's gonna be ok." She smiled a bit and then said "I know, I was just worried that they weren't gonna find out what was wrong and that you would die or something." I looked at my mom with wide eyes and I said "Jeesh"

It was the next day and i felt a whole lot better. My mom asked me "Do you think you can go home today?" I shook my head and she smiled and then said "Ok well I have to go get the release papers." I said "Ok I'll be here" with that she smiled and left the room. I reached over and grabbed her phone, there was a message from mayzie it said "are you coming home today?" I texted back "Yeah, i'm all packed up. My mom is signing release papers right now." It was about 5 minutes until Mayzie texted back. Her text said "Oh my gosh, Norman Reedus is back in New York." I started smiling because we were leaving today to go to New York. I started thinking about the restaurant and Norman giving me Mingus's phone number... Wait norman gave me Mingus's phone number! I could text Mingus. I then started texting Mayzie back until my mom walked back in with my clothes in a bag. She smiled and said "Ready to go?" I smiled back and said "Yes, a million times yes." I went to stand up and that stupid machine started beeping again, I unplugged it. All of a sudden a whole bunch of nurses started running into my room looking at me and asking "What's wrong?!" And "Why are you standing up?!" My mom then told them "She's going home. When she stood up that machine started beeping so she unplugged it." One of the nurses walked over and plugged the machine back in and it started beeping again. She pushed a whole bunch of buttons and it turned off.

When we got home I walked to my room to grab my phone. When I turned it on, I had 5 missed calls from Mayzie and two messages from Bentley. I didn't read Bentley's messages. I didn't care what he had to say, I called Mayzie though. She didn't answer so i called her again. On the third ring she answered and said "Hey are you home now?" I told her "Yeah, is everything alright?" She said "Yes i was just worried about you. We're leaving tonight at 6:30." I said "Ok, hold on i need to go tell my mom"
I laid my phone down and went downstairs to find my mom. She was sitting on the couch. She looked up and said "What's up?" I said "Me and Mayzie are leaving to tonight at 6:30. Can you call Anthony and tell him?" She said Yes and i said Thanks. I went back to my room and looked at my phone it was 5:46. We were leaving in 44 minutes.
