Was it meant to be? (a Mingus Reedus love story)

Chapter twenty-four

It was about five minutes til eight and I started to get nervous. I guess i was pretty noticeable because Anthony looked over and said "It's gonna be alright, it's just a date." I laughed and said "I know but i just don't want to screw this up. I really like h.." The door bell rang and Anthony smiled and said "There's your knight in shining armor" I laughed and walked over to the door. When I opened the door Mingus was standing in front of me wearing a black vest and a grey shirt underneath. He smiled at me and said "You look beautiful." I blushed and looked down and said "Thank you, you look good yourself." He laughed then said "Well if you're ready, We can start going we'll be back about ten tonight." I heard a voice from inside say "I heard him, just go" I turned back around to see another person. This person was wearing a black motorcycle jacket and jeans. I recognized the person. It was Sean Patrick Flanery. I looked at Mingus and he looked as confused as I did. Sean looked at us and said "Your dad sent me, it's dark outside and your on a date." Mingus groaned and said "Ok whatever." Mingus looked at me and said "Ready?" I nodded and we started walking down the hall. We stopped and I turned around to see Sean have Mingus in a headlock giving him a noogie. I started laughing and then Sean let go. Sean said "Step up your game Minnie." I laughed and said "Who's minnie?" Sean pointed at Mingus and said "That's minnie he acts like a little girl sometimes" Mingus said "I do not, he's a liar." I started laughing

We walked into a restaurant. When I noticed the wallpaper and tables I knew it was a sea food place. Mingus turned to me and asked "You like seafood?" I smiled and said "Second favorite thing to eat." He smiled and then turned and ordered for a seat in the back. I sat down and Mingus sat down across from me but Sean stood there looking confused then jumped into my seat and put his arm around me. I blushed and tried to squirm away but he didn't let go. I thought it was a little awkward but Mingus was laughing at us. Sean leaned in and i freaked out a little until I heard him whisper "He likes you a lotttttttttt." I blushed and Sean let go. Mingus looked at me and then I felt my phone ring. I looked at it and it said 'want to hold hands underneath the table so Sean doesn't see? -M' i smiled and put my hand down hold to find a leg. I looked at Sean to find him smiling. Sean says "I know that trick I'm not dumb." I felt his foot move and then i felt a hand grab mine. Me and Mingus were holding hands for the first time. I laughed cause Sean kept looking underneath the table.

I didn't know what to order and i guess it was obvious cause Mingus said "We can share something. Most of the sushi comes out in 6-8 rolls. Unless you want fish or crab?" I said "i'll have sushi." Mingus smiled and told the waitress. The food came out about five minutes later and Sean ordered something that had a million rolls of sushi on it. I laughed and Sean looked over and said "What? I'm on a diet." Me and Mingus started lauging and Sean smiled.

After we were done eating Mingus said "Well if you two are done, i'm ready for ice cream, there's this place two blocks from here that me and my dad go to like every friday night." I smiled and said "Let's go then." We paid the bill and started walking out. Sean walked behind us. Sean grabbed both of our hands and made them connect. I blushed and i looked over at Mingus he was smiling.

We walked into the ice cream place and walked over to the counter. I got a chocolate ice cream cone and so did Sean and Mingus. We all were done with our ice cream in less than five minutes. I was getting a little tired but I was having a great time with being with Mingus. Mingus pulled out his phone and looked at the time. He gasped a little and looked up at me and said "It's 9:58 and I said we would be back at 10 we have two minutes, oh no we're gonna be late!" I smiled and said "Mingus it's fine, i'm staying with my cousin. That guy wasn't my dad or anything." Mingus smiled and said "Well i wanted to make a good first impression." I smiled and said "You already impressed me. Your adorable and extremley sweet." Mingus blushed and then Sean snorted. Sean looked at us and said "Alright you two loveydoves. Let's start heading back, it's late."

We walked back. When we go back to our apartments Mingus turned to me and said "In my opinion that was an amazing first date. We should definatley do it again. I.. I mean only if you want to. I..um." I smiled and said "Yes, for sure!" I smiled then Sean said "Well what are you waiting for?" I looked at Sean but all of a sudden I felt warm lips on mine. I turned to the person and Mingus was standing in fron of me with his eyes closed. I closed my eyes and kissed him back. This was my first kiss on a first date. Mingus pulled away and smiled at me and then said "Well I'll text you later. Bye." I smiled and said "Bye" then walked into Anthony's apartment. I heard someone clapping and I looked out the peephole. I started laughing because Sean was the one clapping.

I couldn't believe the date. I was so happy. The kiss was amazing too, well besides it being on the first date. I didn't care, I really liked Mingus.
