Was it meant to be? (a Mingus Reedus love story)

chapter twenty-six

Me and Mayzie were about to leave to go shopping. Mayzie wanted to go to all the fashion stores. I didn't have a big problem with it... Well I kind of did. I didn't like sitting in stores for hours and hours while my friend tried on a million dresses. I told Mayzie that and she started laughing and said "I'm not gonna make you do that, if you want you can just go to other stores and we can meet back up somewhere." I nodded and said "That sounds a little better, but we were supposed to hangout together." She nodded and said "How bout we spend two hours right now to do our own little shopping, meet up then we hangout the rest of today?" I nodded and said "That sounds great."

After me and Mayzie left I decided to go to go to starbucks and get my favorite coffee. After I walked out I looked across the street to see a bookstore. I laughed and said "Alright. No books." I walked in and immediately seen a whole bunch of books that looked amazing. I was a bookaholic, everytime I walked into a bookstore or music store I ended up coming out with an armful of books or records. I had a record player at home that I always listened to. My parents bought me it last year, it wasn't one of those really old record players. It was the newer kind of record player. I loved it so much. I had a million records most of them were my grandpa's.

I probably spent thirty minutes in the bookstore before I heard someone laugh behind where I was sitting. I jumped a little because it was so quiet and I got lost in the book. I turned around to look who was laughing. I laughed and stood up to see a boy looking at me. I noticed he had blonde hair and I could only think of one boy. I stood up and walked over to where the boy was sitting. When I reached him he put the book he was "reading" down and looked at me and smiled. It was Mingus. I laughed and said "What are you doing here?" He smiled and said "Well I was walking by when I seen a cute girl sitting in here reading a book." I blushed and said "You're a dork." He smiled again and said "What book are you reading?" I handed him the book and he laughed. I looked at him and said "What? What's so funny?" He said "Tom Sawyer? That book is sooooo old!" I laughed and said "Whatever, I used to read Huckleberry and Tom all the time when I was a kid." He laughed and said "Me too. Well are you here alone?" I smiled and said "Yepp, well i'm meeting my friend in like and hour and thirty minutes." Mingus smiled and said "Well i'll stay with you, do you want to stay here?" I smiled and said "Nah let's go do something awesome!" He laughed and said "Let's go to chuck.e.cheese's!" I laughed and looked at him like he was crazy "Are you for real?" He laughed and said "No! There is no Chuck.E.Cheese's in New York." I laughed and said "I thought so. Alright then what are we gonna do?" Mingus stood up and said "Well we could go to central park." I said "That's like twenty minutes from here, we'd have to take a taxi." Mingus smiled an said "Well let's go do it!" I smiled and we walked out.

It took me and three minutes to get a taxi's attention. Mingus whistled and a taxi pulled over. Mingus told the driver where we were headed and the driver took off. I laughed and looked at all the building we were passing. New York was so amazing. I thought to myself 'I so have to move here someday.' While I was thinking I turned to see Mingus staring at me. He blushed and looked down. I smiled and looked away again. I loved every minute I was with Mingus. He was so cute, fun, and nice when we were together.

While me and Mingus were sitting in the taxi at a red light I felt a hand come over on top if mine. I looked down at my hand to see Mingus's hand on top of mine. I turned my hand over and we started holdind hands. I smiled at Mingus and Mingus smiled and blushed a little. We sat there for another five minutes before the cab driver stopped and said "We're here kids, that'll be $6.78." Mingus paid the driver and we got out.

I never been in Central Park and I probably looked like a doofus with the grin I had on my face. I loved going to parks. Me and Mingus walked around, he showed me all the little parts of the park. We went and sat at a bench when Mingus coughed and then said "Hey racheal." I looked at Mingus and said "Hello Mingus" he smiled and said "I..I wanted to ask you something." I smiled again and said "Yeah what is it?" He looked down and said "Do you like me? Like.. Like me?" I laughed and said "Yes." And I blushed a little bit. Mingus sat there for a bit before saying "Well I really like you and I..I was wondering if maybe um you could be my girlfriend?" I laughed and then kissed Mingus. We kissed for about two minutes before I pulled away and said "Yes I would LOVE to be your girlfriend." He laughed and said "Thank gosh... I was really nervous to ask you." I laughed and said "Yeah, you stuttered a bit. But don't be nervous to ask me anything. I'm not gonna bite your head off." Mingus laughed and said "Wow you seem so confident." I smiled an said "Well I think that's because I'm getting used to being around you." Mingus smiled then kissed my cheek. I blushed and stood up and said "I need to get going to my friend, you can come along too! She'd love to meet you." Mingus smiled and said "Ok, I just need to call my dad first." I smiled and said"Ok." I forgot all about Mingus's dad. Oh my gosh, i'm dating Mingus Reedus. That didn't really have and effect on me though. He was just a normal boy, well a normal boy with a famous dad.
