Was it meant to be? (a Mingus Reedus love story)

Chapter forty

I woke up the next morning with Mingus laying next to me. He was asleep and he looked so cute when he slept. Oh gosh I started to feel a little creepy. I slowly got up and luckily i made it without waking Mingus. I headed out to the living room. I was still living with Norman and Mingus. It was so much fun. Cecilia was really fun to hangout with too, she hadn't moved in yet but I think Norman and her were considering it. I found my phone on the kitchen island. I turned it on and i laughed when i seen that i had 13 new text messages from Mayzie. I was just about to call her. I dialed her number and stood there before i heard a little sleepy voice "Whattttt it's 7 in the morning, who is this?" I laughed and said "Your best friend that misses you." Mayzie gasped and said "Racheallll!!! You wanna come visit? I really want to hangout! Please!!" I smiled and then said "I'd have to ask Anthony but I know he'll probably say yes." I heard her sigh an say "Are you bringing Mingus?" I frowned and said "Well, i don't know. I mean unless you want me to come by myself. There's no problem with that. Besides we haven't seen eachother in forever!" I heard and laugh an say "I didn't mean that, i was thinking maybe you and Bentley could get together? I mean he's been talking to me a whole lot and he doesn't know about Mingus." I sighed and thought to myself 'Is she really being serious right?' I forgot to keep talking so i just plainly said "I don't like Bentley, he's a total a..." I heard a sleepy voice behind me which made me jump "Don't finish that sentence please." It was Norman i smiled and said "Sorry" he nodded and headed toward the refridgerator. Mayzie sighed and said "Well i mean, you an Mingus have been together for a while, he's cheated on you twice, i mean once... Who knows anymore?!" I started to get a little irritated so i said "Mayzie, i'm gonna call you later. I have to go help Norman. Bye !" I hanged up before she could say anything.

I still couldn't believe what Mayzie had said. She was my best friend and she was trying to get me to move on from my boyfriend who i love a lot and she wants me to get together with some boy that was a total a-hole to me the last time i was with him. That makes so much sense pfft. I guess i looked mad cause Mingus was sitting next to me saying "Why are you mad?" I didn't know what to say. I didn't want Mingus mad too. I looked over and told him what Mayzie said when I was finished he looked shocked. After about a minute he said "Are you going to see her?" I shook my head no and said "No because really? She's trying to hook me up with a boy that i really don't like an make me leave the only boy that i have ever loved." Mingus smiled and scooted closer to me. I blushed when he kissed my cheek. We sat there for a while. Me and Mingus did that a lot just sat and either held hands or Mingus would have his arm around me. I was so happy when i was with him. He was literally the only thing that made me happy anymore. I still missed my mom a lot but i knew she would want me to be happy.

It was about 4 pm when my phone rang. I looked at the screen and a blocked number appeared. I decided not to answer but after the call the same thing popped up again. It happened about 3 times before i answered. There was a woman on the phone and she asked "Is this Racheal?" I frowned then hit end. No, i really hate those kind of questions. The number called again and i turned my phone off. Mingus and Norman laughed and Norman asked "Are you okay?" I smiled and said "Yeah, some idiot just keeps calling me and it's a blocked number." Norman nodded then said "tell me if they call again." I smiled and got up to go to my room. I sat on my bed and grabbed my ipod. I put my headphones on and laid back on my bed. I started to play a song by "Artic Monkeys" the song was 'why'd you only call me when you're high?' I loved that song. Mingus walked into and i didn't know. My music was too loud for me to hear my surroundings. I jumped when i felt the bed sink down a little. Mingus was smiling and i took my headphones off. He said "Nice song." I laughed and he laid down next to me. Mingus eventually fell asleep because it was so quiet. I fell asleep next to him too. We were gonna need to get out of this apartment tomorrow or something. I felt like riding go-karts.
