Over the next few weeks, things have been getting better. Thanks to Esme, Riley is eating more, and she is caught up in school. Rose has been homeschooling her, which I have a feeling isn't working that well. I am still going to school, and the two of us are in some classes together, but not many.
Right now, the two of us are in her treehouse. It's become our little hideaway. I closed my books, and I wrap my arm around her waist and rest my head on her shoulder.
"Riley, we should go, we have school tomorrow, wouldn't you rather sleep in your room?"
"No thanks, I really don't feel like it."
"Would you like to go back to my house/"
"No, I'd rather stay here."
"Riley, you'll need to get out of here eventually." Then, an idea popped into my head. I've been thinking about doing something special for Riley for some time now, and now, the perfect opportunity. "How about we go on a date tonight?"
"What?"
"Would you, Riley Swan, go on a date with me?"
"Uh, sure, I guess." She felt embarrassed about how she answered.
"I know that Alice will want to get you ready."
"Great." That's exactly what I need." She said sarcastically.
"She will dress you appropriately, she'll know what I have planned."
"Okay, when will this date be?"
"Tonight." I answered. "Why don't we go back to the house, Alice will want to get you ready as soon as possible." She didn't argue, so I brought her pack home so Alice could get her ready for the special night.
