Riley and I have been a couple since prom. It's been great. I wanted her to introduce me to Charlie, as her boyfriend, but every time I brought it up, she instantly felt horrible. I know that she doesn't like her father, so I dropped the subject. For now.
Riley's also been hanging around my family. She's ether with us, at the dance studio, her room, or the tree house, and I've been with her majority of that time.
Today though, is Bella's birthday. I was laying down, reading next to Riley while she slept.
"Hey." She said, waking up.
"Good, I was afraid that I was going to have to get you up, you know how hard it is to do that." I tease her.
"No, I don't. You could just let me stay in bed all day."
"Nope. I don't think so. You need to go to school."
"Why? You already know, that I know everything that they're going to be teaching. I could easily get my homework for today and tomorrow done in a little less than an hour."
"As much as I would love to stay in bed with you all day, I'm pretty sure that Alice would be disappointed in us, and come get us herself." Riley interrupted me with a groan. "Also, you should wish Bella a happy birthday, it's not every day that someone turns eighteen."
"Don't mention that to Bella." She warns me. "She really doesn't want to be eighteen. She doesn't want to physically be older than Edward."
"Edward would change her in a heartbeat if that's what she really wanted." I sensed her feel a bit of doubt. I don't know why.
"We should get changed." I tell her, trying to ward off the feeling of doubt. "Going to school in you pjs isn't a good idea."
"What about you?" She asked. "You changed after hunting, didn't you?"
"Yeah, get dressed. Text me once your done. I'm gonna bring the car so we don't have to run to school." I left her and drove my car to the road closest to the tree house. I know that Riley doesn't want to go to school, but she'll just have to deal with it.
