Lainey's P.O.V

"Curtain in 5!" Frank shouted. It was October 12th. It was opening night! I'm so nervous and excited all at once. That's probably not healthy because I feel like I might puke. Anyway, the stage crew was helping me put on my ear piece for sound check stuff. Now, I want you to out yourself in my shoes.

19 year old, Lainey Potter, freshman in college at the music school in London. You get lucky off of all the hard work you've done over the last ten years of your childhood, or even longer. And land a huge role in Les Misérables in New York City. For the first time ever you are performing in front of thousands of people. Where exactly am I performing? Exactly where every person dreams to perform of course..... Broadway! Yes, you heard right Broadway!

Ever since the word spread that a college freshman was taking on Anne Hathaway's role in the live interpretation the people have been going wild. I already have a very shockingly large group of fans and supporters. I would call them Potterheads but that is already taken. I sill can't decide between the Lainaddicts or the Lainey Bunch. Yeah... We will just stick with the first one for now.

Of course there are people that are going to hate or be skeptical which I don't blame them. Who wouldn't be a bit skeptical of a college kid taking on a Broadway role? Since we are sold out for the next six shows Frank is completely convinced Emma and I are going big time. How exciting is that?! If everything goes well tonight then ill have meetings all week with different interviewers, bloggers, you tubers, record label signers, and much more. Same goes its Emma. When people found out she is doing ALL the piano parts to the play people were in shock. Just like my situation people were quick to defend or hate on Emma.

We really aren't effected by it though. I guess we are too crazy to even notice, but it's paying off right? "Two minutes!" Frank yelled. Just as he did the crew finished with my head set and I was sent to my spot to get ready when the curtain opens.

"Ladies and Gentleman! Welcome to the Broadway Production of Les Misérables!" Frank's voice boomed though out the whole building. "Tonight we have many familiar and famous faces performing for you. But, as you all are aware we have new up and coming performers we know you will fall in love with. So please give a round of applause to Emma Skye, our pianist, and Lainey Potter, Anne Hathaway's role player!" As he finished speaking the crowd broke out in to a HUGE round of applause and wolf whistles! I couldn't help but get this goofy grin on my face. This was it. My life is about to change...

"Fantastic job Emma and Lainey! Emma that was amazing skills! How long have you been playing! Lainey your voice is so strong! Did you take lessons or is it natural?" The paparazzi were throwing question at Emma and I left and right. We had just finished our first performance and I don't mean to sound cocky, but they loved us! A standing ovation, encore, and tears shed the crowd couldn't get enough. I was so proud I was able to take this role and make it come alive so that others would feel the emotions too. It took tons of hard work, but we did it!

Emma and I were quickly ushered into a limo with tinted black windows and we pulled away from the scene. "That was wicked!" Emma shouted. We both started bouncing and squealing. We told each other our favorite parts we did, and what each other did. "I love the part towards the end in your one song when you are playing quietly then it builds in to this crescendo! You did it beautifully and timed it perfectly Em!" I congratulated her with a huge hug.

"What about you? The part when you sing about all the hope being lost you were breath taking. Everyone in the crowd literally felt like your character. You had the tears and the gulps of air all tied together to make something wonderful," she complimented me. We talked about what we could improve and other things like that. "Girls we are here," our chauffeur said as he came around and opened the door for us to go to our hotel. "Thank you Jeffrey," we said together. He nodded at us and said that our dinner was already in our room.

Emma and I ran up and ate then called our parents. We both ended our phone calls with crying proud parents on the other line. I talked to Amber and Hope with Libby and Collin, too. They were so proud of us. Amber was actually there and watching with Libby. I don't even know! Amber said that they didn't want to make me more nervous. But what is two more to the other thousands right? I quickly said goodnight to the girls and Emma and I both slipped in to dream land....

Authors note: vote fan comment and all that good stuff. I'm to tired to right anything else so goodnight or morning since it is 1:46 am here.
