Lainey's P.O.V

The first day of high school. BAM! The world comes and gives you hug, around the neck, with a rope. You spend the next 4 years with a bunch of people that you really don't like. Staying up all night cramming for tomorrow's math test you forgot about. And you just hang in there to the final bell every Friday.

I was fine with all that stuff, I understood why we did all those things. But, I never understood why everyone tried so hard to "fit in." Why would you try and fit in, if your born to stand out? That's the one question I wanted to go up and ask everyone of my peers from high school. But, university? Nope, you all knew what you were doing here and you were done with all those rumors, and "fitting in."

I've been in London for about a month. After getting my acceptance letter a month and half before the semester started, I immediately accepted and got to work. Mum had found me a lovely flat right by my college for a fair price, and it was quite large may I say so. The good thing about having rich parents, that I don't usually brag about, was you got nice things when you needed them. Within a week I had the flat, and all my things for it.

The flat has 3 bedrooms, I'm going to have someone from college split it with me if they want. A nice kitchen, study, living room, and 3 bathrooms. Basically, I live in a fancy complex downtown beside the college and other things, so each floor only has 4 flats. It's peaceful and private, just like I like.

How was I going to afford this you ask? I've already got a job at Jack Wills that pays well. Also, you know how I'm going to a MUSIC school? Well, I perform at a fancy restaurant downtown four times a week, and it pays a VERY generous amount. I'm going to admit, things are going better than I thought.

As for the girls? Hope has already got her own flat, or whatever they call it in Australia, already. She has a job at a very popular surf shop down there too! Amber is doing good. She is splitting an apartment in the big apple with a friend that is going to college with her. She also has a job at Starbucks and a local theater.

After parking the car I hop out and walk to the front of the university. I probably look like a fish out of sea, just standing there gawking at the school in front of me. It was magical! With the vines of flowers growing over the sides of building, not over grown but pretty, and over the big iron gate at the front entrance. The windows and the building structure made it look like a castle. Yep, it's official, I'm not really going to a music school. This is Hogwarts in disguise! It's in England and everything!

"Amazing isn't?" Asked a pretty girl standing beside me that I didn't notice until now. "What, oh yeah it is. I'm convinced its Hogwarts in my head, though." Shoot, I didn't mean to say that out loud. Now this nice girl probably thinks I'm some sort of harry potter nerd. Which i am, but still. "Omg, that's what I was thinking to! I wonder if there is going to be a hot bad boy like Draco here?" She questioned as she nudged me when she mention Draco. " By the way, I'm Emma, a freshman. Nice to meet you." She stuck out her hand. " Nice to meet you too." I said as I shook her hand.

It turned out we were in the same classes, majoring in guitar, piano, and vocals together. We hit it off right away. Sharing are crazy obsessions with Harry Potter, Ed Sheeran, food, and we are both anti girly girl, but we aren't tomboys. You could say we were destined to be friends

" Yeah, I left behind my good friend Liz. As far as a boy, though? Haha, yeah right. I'm a single Pringle and have been one for a year or two now." Emma said trying to control her laughs. We were at Starbucks right now, after our first day, already doing homework. " Same here! Haha. I left behind my two best friends, Hope and Amber. But, they both left our hometown for college, too." I said somewhat saddened by the thought of my two friends not being here. " Aw, that's so cool, three successful best friends. I still can't believe we already have homework though. I swear our teachers are like Professor Snape." Emma said as she fell back in her seat huffing, causing one of her brown locks to fly away from her face.

Emma had natural brown curly hair. It was just below her shoulders. She had blue eyes, as clear as the sea to match. I've heard her sing, and she is really good. She can play guitar really well, too. But when she play piano, it's like heaven! Her family wasn't rich but they were well off. Not that that mattered to me but its just what she told me. Which gives me an idea.

" Hey M? How would you like to live in my flat with me? I have 2 whole bedrooms and I was going to ask someone from school to split it with me anyway. It might as well be you." I proposed very excited at the prospect of Emma and I sharing a flat. " Are you serious? I would love to! But are you sure I won't be a bothersome?" Emma asked slightly worried by the end if her question. " NO, please stay , PLEASE?" I practically begged her. " Alright, thank you so much Lainey!" Emma than proceeded to attack me with a giant hug. " if you want to kill me just use Avada kedavra and do it already!" I squeezed out.

After she said yes we finished our homework then moved all her stuff from her temporary hotel to my,I mean our flat. This was going to be fun. Just Emma and I making our way through college, and stirring up trouble in London...
