A/N: here's the update so please don't kill me?! Haha, love you all. Today I'm putting the quote at the end of the chapter.

Lainey's P.O.V

"Great job L! You did fabulous!" Frank congratulated me after I exited the stage from final curtain call. I smiled gratefully at him then headed back towards my dressing room. I quickly removed any reminiscence of make up from my face, and changed back into my sweats and sweatshirt. Frank worked us vigorously in rehearsals today. He wasn't lying when he said he wanted to go out with a bang. We were literally rehearsing until the first person came in.

Once I was changed, and I put everything back neatly, I headed towards Emma's dressing room. I knocked on the door twice and announced it was me.

"Come in!" Came a muffled shout through the door. I twisted the door knob, and entered. Emma had already changed in to her regular clothes, and was in the process of taking off the pounds of make up provided by our stylist truly. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who was worn out. Em looked like she might fall over in her seat any second. Me being the nice friend I am, decided to help her.

"Oh just give the rag here," I chuckled and took it from her hand. She didn't even complain and just turned to face me. I got the rest the eye make up off for her and then spun her around towards the mirror again. "Did I miss anywhere?" We both scanned her reflection and didn't find any leftover make up.

"Okay, now let's go home," Em yawned, causing me to yawn along with her. We headed towards the car and I drove because I may be tired, but there is no way I'm letting a drowsy Emma behind the wheel. I realized a major problem though when I hopped in the driver's seat. I myself was to tired to drive. I know what you're thinking "you seriously don't think you can stay awake with all the traffic in the city?" Truth is, it's harder than it looks. There may be all the angry drivers, the honking horns, and sounds of engines, but once you live in the city for so long it just becomes a hum. You know the one of everyday noises? Like Rick Yancey says in his book "The 5th Wave". "It's the sound we created. The humans. and without the humans there is only silence."

"Why aren't you driving?" Emma questioned half asleep.

"Because I'm to tired to safely get home," I explained slowly so she could comprehend in her dream state.

"Call someone to pick us up," she replied like it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"Oh yeah, cause you know how many of the people on my contacts are awake at almost midnight on a weekday." I sarcastically retorted.

"Oops, I forgot," Em mumbled sheepishly, while her cheeks turned pink like cotton candy.

Who to call? Who to call? Wait, better question; who is awake? Then it hit me. I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I hurriedly scrolled through my contacts, just praying that they'll be awake, and willing, to come get us. Finally, I came across the name in my millions of contacts. Literally it seemed. Hesitantly, I clicked the dial button and gently pressed it to my ear. One ring.. Two rings.... Three- maybe I should hang up. But halfway through the third ring they picked up.

"Hello?" The person questioned suspiciously. The good news was they didn't sound tired in their voice. Suddenly, I felt very sheepish though for calling.

"Hey, it's me. Lainey. I know it's late but I was wondering if you could do me a favor?" I scratched the back of my neck awkwardly, even though they couldn't see me.

"Haha," he chuckled on the other side of the phone. "Depends on the favor," he joked. I took a deep breath then my voice came out.

"You see," I squeaked then cleared my throat. "Emma and I just came out of the show and we are both beyond tired so.. Iwashopingyouwouldcomepickusupanddriveushome." I rushed out my question as quick as possible. He rolled with laughter for a good two minutes. While I blushed I loved over to see Em really fighting off sleep. I just chuckled at her helplessness.
