A/N: If you haven't seen my status, go look at it. I'm sick of explaining why I update when I update. There is this thing called life, and I kind of have to live it. So just so you know, nobody has done anything wrong, but I know people can get agitated with slow, irregular updates. Niall's P.O.V

Ill be the first to admit out of the five of us: that hurt. We don't know I why, but it did. Now don't go all willy nilly on me. I don't like either of the girls, at all, like that. As friends? Of course, but in no romantic way what-so-ever. The reason "it" hurt so much is more complex than a simple case of envy.

When the boys and I first caught whiff of the girls, we were in shock. Nobody, and I hate myself for saying it, has made quite as big and quick of success as the lads and I have since the beginning of our career. I know it's selfish, but I'm trying to prove a point. Anyway, even then we weren't jealous of the girls, just a bit suspicious of the girls and their attitudes themselves; plus the capability to become that popular.

Then a few months go by and the lads are all crashing at my place, and we are scowering through the channels with low hopes of finding anything worth watching on the telly. I believe it was Louis who had the remote, not that it really matters, but still. He was passing by the news and there we heard of the girls Secret Santa Project. We did some research on it, found out what is was all about, and I was actually pleasantly surprised by the girls.

Turns out Lainey was a great student through high school, in all aspects;came from a good home, American, pretty ill admit, athletic, and of course quite good at the arts. Emma was almost identical to Lainey except for the fact she was an Aussie, and took more interest into her instrumental career. No, we did not stalk the girls, we saw the basic info. It's not like we looked up their blood types or something, I didn't even remember my own until the fans mysteriously dug it up.

Ironically enough, not a day after our little bit of research did Simon call us in for a meeting. "Boys, how would you feel about New York City for the holidays?" Of course, we were upset at first, unknowing to the fact our familys' could come, or what we were doing. But, once the information was given to us we gladly accepted the offer and headed back to our flats to pack for the trip.

Then we get on the flight and the girls and Simon start communicating and we have our first real conversations with the two mystery girls. I remember them saying something snarky, and the boys getting a bit worried about their attitudes. I forget exactly what it was, but I know we were just overreacting out of nerves. How would you feel meeting the potential next big thing beside you and your mates? Nervous as hell, that's how.

Simon didn't seem shocked at all either when they didn't show at the airport when we arrived. I bet he planned it so he knew the girls would be at the studio and we would get to see them perform behind a closed door, not just for the public. I know I was a bit mad that Simon didn't reprimand them for not showing, where as us we would have been in a crap load of trouble with management.

Luckily, we all seemed to get on well with the two girls from the start and I have to say in this short weeks time we have come a long way from strangers. Just look at the incident with Lou and Lain! We thought they'd already done it together. That would have been one to tell the kids. But then, right as we were finally all opening up to each other, this happens. Relationships. Can't I ever just get away from them?

To managements pleasure, along with some of the fans, the One Direction boys are all "on the market." With our busy schedules, some girlfriend stealers, some pretty harsh fall outs, and pure loneliness, the whole romance department has been difficult for all of us lately. But I won't go in to detail of that now. We'd just dropped the girls off from breakfast and luckily, they were kind and smart enough to very quickly catch the memo that the relationship area was still touchy for us, and didn't even mention it once through out the whole meal, something that makes me highly favor those two girls.
