I don't think there has been anything more awkward in my life. It has been a couple days after Victor put up the idea of us actually going out. I didn't accept nor did I decline, I just wanted things to stay how they were. Just for a bit longer.

He has, however, been trying more than normal to get my attention. And by that I mean like sneaking into my bed at night, and trying to feed me. It's not like it's a big bother, it's just obvious that he's doing this because of what happened.

"Yuri!" I heard my mother call from the living room. "Could you go to the store for me? The list is on the fridge, thank you!" Sighing, I closed my laptop and went downstairs.

I took the note from fridge to see there was a few items on the list. Basic things like basil, and tea leaves, stuff that wouldn't spoil really soon. It wouldn't take that long to get the items, I've decided. Maybe I could go out and walk around while I was at it, try to get a little alone time.

Stuffing the note into my jacket pocket, I went to the front door as quiet as possible. Victor was either in the bathroom or in his room so hopefully he won't know that I even left. There at the front door I put on and tied my running shoes.

There, I was out of the house, scott free, the feeling of cold air hitting me face. NO Victor, no Makk-chan, just me alone with my thoughts. Or, at least I thought I was alone.

I walked through the sliding doors of the tiny convenient store, a jingle ringing as I walked in. My hand took out the now crumbled up list from my jacket. From there I walked around the store as I tried to straighten the paper back to it's original form.

I decided to go to a convenient store instead the grocery store is because all I needed were small things. The note was now readable enough and it seemed shorter than the usual list.

The items I needed, basil, thyme, clove, and others we're all in one isle so I didn't need to search for long. I walked over to the isle I needed to be at and grabbed the small containers of ingredients. They were small enough to fit on my hands so there was no effort to carrying them around.

The sliding door's jingle played again, indicating another person has walked into the store. It didn't really bother me, a lot of people go to this store.

"Yuri, I'm here to help!" My eyes pretty much popped out of my head bearing the familiar voice. Raising my head, I saw Victor who was apologizing to the manager for being so loud. He then ran over with a smile on his face, unable to stay still for a second. "Is there anything I can get for you?"

I shook my head, showing him the items in my head. "Victor, did my mom tell you I was going here?"

We both walked over to the check out, giving the cashier the items in my hands. The man scanned the items before putting them in a small plastic bag.

"Yes! I thought I could accompany you." I nodded in understanding, giving the cashier the money to pay for the ingredients I needed. Then I took the bag from him and started walking out with Victor.

"Well, I'm pretty much done." I rose the plastic bag before putting it back to my side. "I guess we can go home then." I could feel my voice shake, not because I'm scared or anything! No, definitely not that.

"Wait." He grabbed my wrist, making the both of us stop walking. "Since there's no spoils that you had to buy, how about for a walk?" A silence wafted through the air.

I looked down at our connected hands. Well, it was only a walk, nothing else. It wouldn't hurt and it would be fun to go out for a little bit longer.

"Okay." And with that, I was dragged away by Victor to the near by coffee shop. Well, at least it's somewhere I like.

We sat down at a table for two, it being further away than the others. Privacy, I guess.

"I'll go get you something for us to drink! What would you like?" Victor said, brushing my hair in more like a petting way. It was a little awkward but it felt a bit nice. Weird, right?

"Um, anything hot please." He nodded and went to order our drinks. The feeling of his hand still lingered on the top of my hand where he petted.

I was left to my own devices for a bit. My thoughts led me to the question he asked me. I still hasn't answered, and if I did, what would I say? That thought wouldn't go away.

Before I knew it, Victor came back with a hot tea for me. I thanked him and watched as he sat down across from me.

We talked for a while, but it only felt like seconds. The talking was pretty much about competition or learning about each other's interests.

"Hey, Yuri?" I looked at him curious. Those bright, Aqua eyes felt as if they were piercing into mine. It felt, dangerous.

"What is it?" A gentle smile was carved on his lips. Something warm started grazing the top of my hand. I glanced down to see that he was hold my hand in his.

You could see that even though his smile was warm, you could tell that he was being serious as well. "You never told me your answer. If we want to keep up the facade of us dating, we should play the part."

Facade,'play the part'. Did I really want that? Didn't I want to have a normal life? Getting a girlfriend, married, having a couple of children. That's what I wanted. But what do I want now?

"I'm sorry, but I can't."
