Chapter 1 - Lost In Thoughts All Alone (Present)

All the CPUs were gone. Soon all of Gamindustri would inevitably crumble to ruin. I could feel an immense evil approaching. The Deity of Sin would appear tomorrow. I could feel it. My final day before the fight, I decided to head to Lastation. I remember how the town used to be. Back when Noire was still alive. Lastation was known as the land of progress. Since Noire was known to be a workaholic, the nations attitude seemed to follow suit. The city looked like a technological steampunk paradise. There were many factories and skyscrapers and buildings painted black and dark gray. Many people were moving in the streets, always with a goal on where to go and what to do. People always had things to do and places to be. I guess you could say the town was decently friendly however. Noire on the other hand, never usually interacted with anyone usually. I had always come to Lastation to see the amazing tech expos every year.

As I reminisced about the town, before I knew it, I had arrived just outside its borders. The land that was once surging with energy, was in shambles. The factories abandoned and long since forgotten. The buildings dilapidated and falling apart. Along with the neon signs, flickering slowly until they died, one by one. The Basilicom still stood in the center, but the building wasn't how I remembered it either. The outside was slowly crumbling, falling apart due to the lack of share energy. Tears slowly came down my face as I imagined walking through the town in the past. I could hear the ghosts of the footsteps on the streets, clomping down on the pavement. Along with the voices of their owners. Talking about new technology, or how great their jobs were, and how much everyone believed in Noire. As I slowly approached the Basilicom, I remembered the first time I met Noire. I was returning a quest order to the guild when she had appeared next to me. She ignored me and had taken what had appeared to be an extremely difficult quest for someone of her looks...
