Chapter 12 - Dinner For... Five?

Noire had told me to wait with her in the dining room at the table. She wanted to ask me a couple of questions. Personal questions. Things like what I preferred and what I didn't and what I liked and disliked, etc. I found the whole conversation strange but slightly heartwarming.

"So... what did you want to know?" I asked her.

"Hmm... let's start small. What's your favorite color or colors?"

"Blue and Black." I told her.

"Wait really?" Was all she could say. Almost as if she'd never heard of another person who liked those colors.

"Ok then what do you prefer to fight with then?" She asked.

"Swords." I said. As if I didn't make that evident enough when I fought with her before.

"But I also like using guns as well so either one works fine with me."

Then as if almost like magic, Uni appeared from nowhere. It seemed my appreciation for guns had peaked her interest.

"What's your favorite gun?"

"Hmm. Personally I prefer this one for close combat."

I pulled out my Colt .45 Caliber M1911A1 pistol for her to look at. She looked at it as if she'd never seen anything like it.

"Where did you get this? This has to be at least several hundred maybe even thousands of years old!" She looked at me while holding the gun in her hands, expecting an answer.

As she handed it back to me, I told her that it was a very long story that I didn't want to talk about. Of course, there was one thing I happened to overlook since this was my second time reenacting these events.

"What's that on your back?" Uni asked.

Confused, I didn't know what she was talking about. But almost like magic, it was the rifle. The one she had given me before she died.

"It's a rifle. I got it from someone who was very dear to me. Same as these swords." I told them.

"Can we see them" the girls both asked me.

"I don't think that'd be such a great..."

Before I could finish what I was saying, I heard a scream from above and the door to the dining hall slam open at the same time.

"Get out of the wayyyyyyy! Said the screaming voice.

Then the person falling from the sky crashed into the floor behind me. The I saw the person who burst through the door. She was running to check the condition of her sister. As soon as I saw her, I had to catch my breath.

It was Nepgear. Which could only mean that the first person who had fallen to the roof was one other than...

"Neptune has arrived!" said the purple haired goddess.

Noire looked furious. She rose from her seat and screamed.

"Neptune what on Earth are you doing here?"

Oh boy was she pissed. Neptune just casually shrugged it off as if everything was normal.

"Well I thought we'd stop by to see you since you're always so lonely. You're just always working and I just thought we could spend some time together." Said Neptune.

I was still looking at Nepgear while these events transpired around me.

"Ge-Ge, its you..." I said.

Then I got strange looks from everyone as I became the center of attention. Nepgear gave me a look of confusion as well. All I could do was hide my face in shame and embarrassment.

"Do I know you?" Nepgear asked me.

"No I'm sorry. I must've been mistaking you for someone else." I lied.

Soon after, the looks they were giving me disappeared from their faces but I could feel that some of them still held a small feeling of skepticism towards me.

"Hey uh Noire, who's the dark and brooding guy sitting here?" Neptune asked.

"How rude of you Neptune. He's sitting right there. Why don't you ask him yourself." Noire replied.

"Bwaaaa ok. Just simmer down. I'll go talk to him."

Neptune slowly walked over to me and introduced herself and her sister to me.

"Hi I'm Neptune. Goddess and hero of Planeptune and this is Nepgear my younger sister. She's the CPU candidate of Planeptune. Mind telling us who you are?"

Her introduction was so full of energy, just like I remembered. Nepgear was also undeniably shy and cute just like she always is as well.

Seeing that brought a tear to my eye. Noire noticed this and gave me a quick look of concern. But it disappeared quickly. She probably didn't want to cause a scene.

Neptune and Noire ended up quarreling for a bit after everything that had happened. But Noire ended up letting Neptune and Nepgear stay for dinner. It was then that they wanted to talk about going monster hunting tomorrow. Neptune didn't want to but we forced her into agreeing anyways. I agreed just to protect them. They didn't know yet how important my presence was yet.
