Hey guys! I've decided to enter the Wattys! Yay! Thanks to FireArrow and MISSMISsA for your encouraging words! I would dedicate this chapter to you guys, but I don't exactly know how to do that XP LOL. So if I figure it out, I'll make sure to.

To anyone and everyone who reads my story and likes it, please recommend it to other people, so I can get it out there! It's never to early to rack up those reads and votes and fans (if I'm lucky enough) :D

Thanks!

I blinked in the sunlight as I stepped out of the forest. Putting up a hand to shield my eyes, I started the long walk to the stables. As far as I could hear, Prince Auden did not follow me.

I must have exited the forest from a different direction because this route had a hill that I was positive I did not go over on my troublesome ride here. I sighed with exhaustion but continued up the hill. As I trudged to the top, each step became heavier and more labored.

When I finally made it to the summit, I sank onto my hands and knees and gasped for breath.

I cannot go on. I must rest.

I rolled over onto my back and took in the sun with my arms spread out at my side and my chest heaving with each breath. I closed my eyes and hoped to fall asleep.

“…cess…Princess…Princess!”

I opened my eyes drowsily squinted against the sun. The shadow of Prince Auden mounted on his horse rained over me.

“What do you need, Prince Auden?” I snapped.

“Stand up so we may ride back to the stables. It will be much quicker than walking.” He answered as if nothing had happened.

“I do not see my horse anywhere.” I remarked propping myself onto my elbows, then wincing. I sat up and crossed my legs while rubbing my sore elbows.

“We have recovered the horse, but I meant that we may ride my steed back.”

“I am no position, nor mood to be riding another horse so soon.” I growled.

“Well it is better than walking, is it not?” He persisted.

“I refuse. After a few moments, I shall be able to stand again, and I will walk back to the stables.”

The Prince dismounted his horse and offered me a hand to stand up. I ignored it and pulled myself up and began to walk away from him.

He hesitated before saying, “Princess Evelynn, this is not a matter of trust. There will come a time when I will tell you everything, but it is not now.”

I stopped, turned back to him and stared in incredulity. “Do you trust me?”

He paused. “I do.”

“Then the time should not matter. If you trusted me, then you would tell me everything right now. Trust has no time limit.”

He made the same expression as he had yesterday when I first encountered Lord Percy. “Please understand. I do not know how you will take this. That is why I need time to collect my thoughts.”

I looked away from him as I could feel myself melting.

I paused and a moment of silence settled over us. The wind blew sending the grass rolling in waves. My hair fell into my face, and I pushed it back with a finger.

“I suppose it was a bit forward of me to demand an answer right now…” I admitted.

Prince Auden nodded.
