*Alexis' pov*
"Are you sure we have to do this?" I asked Brayson. We were pulling into the CBI base to help the team find Mom and Dad. Brayson told me all about the call, and I was nervous. I didn't really want to be the one to find them. That would mean that if they were dead it would be on my hands, and finding them dead would be bad enough. I just wasn't sure I wanted to do it.
"Do you want to find Mom and Dad or not?" Brayson asked me. I sighed has he got out of the car. We climbed on the elevator and went up. I looked at him.
"I do, but I don't know if I want to have their blood on my hands."
"Hey, we will find them alive!"
"If you say so. You know a story Mom told me about this elevator?"
"What?"
"Dad told Mom that he felt the need to help her walking out of this elevator. It's what started her love for him, and she said she doesn't know what she would have done if he didn't tell her all the things he said about her. She told me that she would tell me more about it since it had to do with the Red Stars. I wish she could have told me what it was about."
"You can ask her when we find her," Brayson told me with a smile. We got out of the elevator and walked into the office. Cho and VanPelt were sitting at one of their desk looking at something. VanPelt was making a face that told me it wasn't good. She looked up at us and looked back down.
"What is it?" I asked her walking over. I wish I didn't. On the screen I was Dad. He was tied to a chair, and a man was walking around him. The man had a knife in his hand, and every so often would cut Dad with it. They were only small cuts, but I could see the pain in Dad's eyes, and since he was gagged it was only muffled screams. I backed away, and then Dad looked at the camera. I knew this was live when he looked at me. The way Dad looked at me, the way that it made a light come to his eyes made me smile. I waved at him, and he waved back. Then the man cut him again, and the light was gone. It was too much and I walked away about to cry. Dad didn't need to see that. But where was Mom?
"Alexis wait!" Brayson called following me. "Hey, are you okay?"
"They were cutting him," I told him whipping my tears. Brayson looked back, but the video went dead. Brayson took my hand and I looked him in the eye. "I'm going to help you. No one does that to Dad and gets away with it."
"There's your Patrick Jane spirit," he told me laughing. I laughed also and went into Lisbon's office. She looked up from what she was doing and smiled.
"So are you all ready to help?" she asked. Brayson smiled at her.
"Always glad to lend a helping hand," he told her and she rolled her eyes.
"You are definitely Jane's son. So here is the case file. I want you to read it, ask us questions, and then come back and see me. Understand?"
"Yes ma'am, we will," I told her.
"Homework, great," Brayson mumbled, and I glared at him.
"Stop it."
"What?"
"Yep, definitely Jane's and Thomas' kids," Lisbon laughed. People said that all the time. Brayson was a lot like Dad, from the jokes, the easy going attitude. He was like Dad made over; another Patrick Jane. Me on the other hand took Mom's personalty. I'm hardworking, I don't really like to take anything from anyone, and I'm pretty persistent with what I am doing. The next Missy Jane, I guess. I sat down to get ready for this case.
*Missy's pov*
"Ugh, could you do that a little lighter?" Patrick asked me. I sighed and touched the cuts lightly, but I still had to take care of them. I wasn't expecting him to come back with this many cuts, but he did. Pushed right in and looking awful. I ran over to him and placed him on the bed. I started to treat them even though he didn't want me to.
"I'm trying," I answered when he groaned out in pain.
"Missy, I'm telling you that I'm only soar. You don't have to do that. You're the one that I should be taking care of, not the other way around."
"Unlike you I can work through the pain."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Means that I can handle pain better and take care of myself."
"I think I take care of myself very well. Name one time that I didn't."
"Let me see," I said thinking about it. "You hid behind a bush when a gun went off."
"So?" he asked.
"Lisbon already told you that bushes don't stop bullets. You are the unluckiest guy I know when it comes to guns."
"Well then," he said placing his hands on his heart, making me laugh.
"It's true! A hundred men could be in a room and you would walk into the only person with a gun and would want to kill you."
"That is true, but I'm still going to acted hurt about it."
I laughed and went back to treating his wounds. He sat up and took my hands, all the joking and laughter leaving his face and eyes.
"Missy," he said looking at me. "I have to tell you something."
"What?" I asked him. Patrick never looked this serious unless it was bad or had to do with a case.
"The Red Stars sent my cutting to the CBI," he started. "It was just Cho and VanPelt. Rigsby left when the first cut was made. It was that for a while, but then someone else come into view. It was Alexis. She saw me being cut, and her look was just... I don't know how hurt she was, but I know it hurt her a lot."
"Oh Patrick," I sighed placing my hand on his shoulder.
"I didn't want her to see that. No one should see their father being cut for no reason."
"I know. That poor girl."
Patrick sighed and placed his head on my lap. I played with his hair and then I lend down and placed my forehead on his. He looked up into my eyes, and I looked into his.
"I'm glad I don't have to do this alone again," I told him. "And I know Alexis and Brayson will find us." I brushed my lips on his, and he did the same. I just felt the kiss, and I tried to forget that it was in a place I wasn't allowed to leave.
Sweet. Hehe, it would be awful if I did something to either of them, wouldn't it? I'm kidding, the rest of the book should just be Alexis and Brayson with one more thing in Missy's pov. Trust me, this is still going to be a book high on my list. Let me know what you think. Peace out my Stars!
