Chapter 50: Monsters, Fears, and Tears

*Brysen's pov*

[Two weeks later March 3rd Alexis and Logan still haven't been found. I've been staying with Erin and Jay. My phone rings it's Grant I answer:]

"Hello?"

"Hey it's me. I was just calling to check in. How are you?"

"Stressed."

"Well I know something that will make you a lot less stressed. Come to the hospital."

"Grant I'm not."

"Just get your ass down here man. You will feel so much better. Man hurry up."

"Okay."[I go upstairs and take a shower I get dressed putting on a blue shirt and some jeans I put my shoes on and grab my keys I leave and go to the hospital. Alexis's family is there I walk in they all look at me Dylan and Maggie are standing at the nurses desk Dylan comes over she says:]

"When I have this coat on I'm no longer your sister in law family goes out the window. I will treat her like any other patient I am her doctor what I say goes. If you have questions please ask."

"Okay."

"There's a Jane Doe in the morgue who matches the description of your wife. We need you to make an ID."

"Okay."[we go down to the morgue the M.E. pulls the sheet back it's...]

*Erin's pov*

[Half an hour later Brysen comes back upstairs he's been crying he comes over and says:]

"It's not her. Oh thank god."

"There's someone I think you would like to see."[we go into an ICU room Alexis has bruises on her arms and legs, her right arm is in a cast and her jaw is wired shut. Brysen looks at me and asks:]

"Who did this to her?"

"Trey Parker. She fought like hell."

"Is he in jail?"

"Yea. Alexis shot him in self defense and then she flagged down a police officer before she passed out. She fractured her mandible when she bit him."

"How long has she been here?"

"They found her three days after she disappeared and she's been here since. We wanted to make sure that Alexis was okay. She's awake and she can hear you. She's not too fond of men right now but she might let you in. I'll give you a minute."

"Thank you."

[Dylan leaves I sit next to Alexis she looks at me and starts crying I reach for her hand she moves it away and writes:]

"Please don't touch me."

"Are you okay? Did he?"

"No. I wouldn't let him. I thought I would never see you again."

"Hey. It's okay I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere. I promise.

"I don't ever want to see that man again."

[Alexis and I keep talking we talk all day long 3:30pm. Dylan comes in she says:]

"Sorry guys but Alexis you need to get some rest."

"Five minutes?"

"Five."

"Thanks."[Dylan leaves Alexis writes:]

"It's gonna take some time before we're intimate and I'm not talking about sex."

"Alexis you are my best friend as long as I get to hold you in my arms for the rest of my life then I can wait as long as you need to. I don't care about sex."
