*Carter's pov*
[Two months later January 15th I have the biggest gymnastics meet ever my team comes over Brennan asks:]
"Nervous?"
"Shut up Brennan. You don't ask someone if they're nervous."
"No. Is Brent here?"
"I haven't seen him."
[Nobody has seen Brent during my meet I do an Artisan double cross but land on my leg I hear the bone crack I scream in pain.]
[Carter lands on her leg breaking it we go to the hospital we're in Carter's room when Brent comes in he says:]
"Hey. How are you feeling?"
"Why are you here?"
"I wanted to see if you were okay."
"Why?"
"Because I care about you and you're my friend."
"No I mean why weren't you there? Everyone was there for the biggest meet I have ever had except for you. My leg is ruined and I may never be able to do gymnastics or play soccer with my little brother again. YOU PROMISED ME YOU'D NEVER MISS A MEET SO WHY WEREN'T YOU THERE?!"
"I was with Tasha the girl I'm seeing."
"GET OUT! GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM! GET OUT AND STAY AWAY FROM ME!"
"You're upset that I'm moving on?
"You made a promise and you NEVER break a promise! You knew how important this was to me. Now please get out of my room."
"Carter. What can I do to make this up to you?"
"Never speak to me again now please get out of my room. Please."
"I'm so sorry."
"I believe she asked you to leave."[Carter turns her head away from Brent he leaves our parents come in Mom says:]
"How are you feeling kiddo?"
"I'm never gonna be able to do gymnastics again."
"Let's just wait for the doctor."
"Please leave. I just want to be alone. Turn the lights off would you?"
"Okay."
[They leave and turn the lights off after a while the doctor comes in and says:]
"Hi Carter I'm Dr. Mendoza I have good news and bad news which one would you like to hear first?"
"Bad."
"The bad news is that you won't be able to play gymnastics or do anything strenuous on that leg. You broke your tibia and tore muscles."
"How long am I out for?"
"Six months. School and home no sports or anything like that for a while."
"And the good news?"
"You get to choose your cast colors."
"YOU THINK THAT'S GOOD NEWS?!!? MY LEG IS RUINED AND YOU JUST SAID I WON'T BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING FOR SIX MONTHS! JUST GET OUT. GET OUT OF MY ROOM!"[Two days later I'm on crutches at school when the team comes over Brennan asks:]
"Hey. How are you?"
"I'll never be able to do gymnastics again. I can barely put pressure on my leg."
"Is that what the doctor said?"
"No but he said with this kind of break I won't be able to do a lot of the things that gymnastics requires."
