*Erin's pov*
[A week later October 8th Carter has been staying with us she and Drew have been fighting. Alexis is feeling better, Lexi is out of the hospital we're having dinner at the house. The kids come over we all sit down Jay prays we eat ; Carter's phone rings Dylan says:]
"No phones at the table Carter."
"It's Brent."
"How is he?"
"Good. I should answer. Hello?"
"Look out the window."
"Okay."[I go over to the window there's a pickup truck outside Brent gets out I go outside and say:]"What is this?"
"This is our date. My cousins are gonna be with us and we're going to go mudding."
"We're in the middle of dinner."
"Oh god. I'm sorry I didn't know."
"Come here."[Brent comes over we hug tightly I kiss his cheek and say:]"It's great. I can see if I can ditch. Thank you for being there when I need you and even when I pushed you away. You're my best friend Brent."
"I'll always be here."
[I go inside smiling I say:]
"So Brent is outside and he wants to go out."
"It's a school night Carter."
"I did what Grandma asked me to already. Please? Can I go?"
"Is your homework finished?"
"No sir."
"Then the answer is no Carter end of discussion."
"Yes sir. I should go tell Brent."[I go outside and say:]"I can't go."
"What? How come?"
"My homework isn't finished."
"Maybe this weekend we can hang out."
"I'd like that. I'll see you tomorrow morning."
"Yea."
"Bye."[we hug Brent kisses my head I go back inside and start to go upstairs Dad says:]
"Get back here and finish your dinner."
"I'm done."
"Then put your plate in the sink."
[I go into the kitchen and put my plate in the sink I go upstairs and finish my homework. I put my headphones on along with my coat and shoes I go downstairs everyone is sitting in the living room watching a movie Grandma asks:]
"Where you headed kiddo?"
"For a walk."
"Okay. Be careful."
"I will. Love you."[I leave and go on a walk.]
*Jay's pov*
[10:00pm all the kids are still here the grandkids are asleep. Lexi says:]
"So it turns out that I didn't go into labor I just peed on myself."[Alexis starts laughing Addi says:]
"Ow! Alexis stop laughing your making her kick like crazy."
"That's because she loves me."
"Hey Mom have you seen Carter? She's not in the room."
"She went for a walk after dinner."
"It's late. She should've been back by now she knows her curfew is ten on school nights."
"Have you called her friends?"
