Fighting with a Monster

Chapter 6 - Heere's Jaaack!

I woke up with Becky cuddled in my arms. Seems that the side effect didn't last long.

She opened her eyes.

"Good morning."

"G'morning."

"We... should get up..."

"Oh sure."

We got up and went downstairs to our house, after I closed the dirt dome. We arrived into the storage, and hid the entrance.

"You know, we should get some wood, 'cause we're running out of it, and it's cold." I said, knowing that it was autumn.

"Yeah, we should. Let's get some armour, just in case, and some axes."

We got what we needed, and headed to the forest.

Cutting wood wasn't boring, because both of us had the sense of humor. You know what I mean.

"Ow!" I said, after a ball of dead leaves hit me.

"Becky! Come here!"

"Why? Catch me!"

"Oh come on... Becky! Wait!"

But she was gone in the forest. I had no choice, but to follow her. I raced through the trees and the bushes, but I couldn't find her. 

Finally, I saw her purple jacket. I ran to her, and saw her standing stunned, looking at a fallen tree. I stopped dead in my tracks too.

"Umm, Jason?"

"Yeah?"

"Did we cut this tree?"

"Umm, no."

"Then why is it like this? It has cutting marks on it."

I didn't answer.

"I don't like this. Let's get outta here."

"Ok..."

We returned to our house, and put the wood, the armor and the axes back in the storage.

"Umm, Becky?"

"Yeah?"

"We should go mining, too. We're running out of coal."

"Well, let's go."

"Becks! I found some Lapis Lazuli!"

"Woo! Really?"

"Yeah! Come here!"

I saw her coming to me and her jaw dropped.

"Woo! Lemme mine it."

She mined all the Lapis and then we went deeper. But there we saw something strange.

The cave we were in was already lit up.

"Jason, did you go there before?"

"No. You?"

"Me neither."

Then she looked up at me. She had a scared look on her face.

"Jason, I'm scared."

"Come here."

I hugged her tight.

"Becky, no one's gonna hurt you. I won't let them. I promise."

She looked at me.

"Thanks."

Then she kissed me. I kissed back, then she pulled out of the kiss.

"Let's go back. We have enough coal for almost two weeks."

We returned to the surface trough another cave, because we lost our way back.

Again, something was up there. It was a dirt house.

"Jason, did you--"

"No."

"Then who? Or maybe what?"

"I don't know. Lemme check the house."

I entered inside and found a bed, a chest and some torches on the wall. I emptied the chest and got to Becky.

"I found some stuff there."

"Well, we should be going. The sun is setting."

We arrived home, and went to sleep.

"Jason?"

"Yah?"

"Can you put your bed next to mine? Because I'm afraid of the dark and it was nice sleeping with you." she said with a smile.

"Of course, my dear."

Once done, we both went to bed, and becky curled in a ball next to me.

"Good night, Jason."

"Good night, Becky." I said then kissed her forehead. Then I fell asleep.

"Jason?" I woke up with her whispering in my ear. It was still nighttime.

"Yeah?" I whispered too.

"I think there's someone in the house."

"Oh God. I'll go check, you stay here and don't make a noise."

"Ok."

I got up and took my sword from under the bed. I could hear the stranger's steps on the wooden floor. I could tell the stranger was a "he". I got in the hall, and hid in the darkness. When he was right in front of me, I jumped at him. He screamed. We fought with our swords, until I made him drop his sword, then I pinned him on the wall, with my sword at his throat.

"BECKY, THE LIGHTS!"

Right after, the room filled with light, and I could see the stranger. He wore a leather armor and he had a stone sword at him.

"AAH! DON'T HURT ME!"

"Who are you?!"

"Who am I?! Who are you?!"

I let him fall on the floor.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well, I went mining, and got lost. I found the exit near your house, but it was nighttime, so I decided to enter here."

Becky came near me.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"I'm Jason Aceti, and she is Becky Smith."

Suddenly, he gasped.

"J-Jason? Becky? I am Jack. Jack Frost."

"Oh my God... Jack?" I said, then we both hugged.

He was here. How can it be?
