You Got Me, You Do - Chapter Twenty Six

I got back to the hotel room and Claire was back asleep and lulu was asleep on a little couch. "The doc says it’s normal but that some wierd tests just came in so she wants to talk about them."

"Oh?" I said surprised.

"Ya, but she waited to wait for you."

"Who did, Claire?"

"No, the doctor."

"Oh? That's wierd."

"Ya... A little bit."

There was knocking, but before anyone could reply she walked in. She being the doctor.

"Miss Callaway!" The doctor said looking at her charts.

Claire opened her eyes and I helped her sit up again. "Yes?"

"Congradulations! Although we didn't know, the drugs we gave you were simply a drainer. So all of the drugs that were in your drink should be gone and the both of you are fine. We did another test and you’re good to go as soon as you’re ready!"

"The both of them?" I asked.

"Ya..." Claire said confused. "What do you mean the both of you...? Well, me."

The doctor stood confused and looked over her papers once again. "Miss Callaway... Your six months pregnant."

Claire jaw dropped. "That's impossible!"

"Have you had unprotencted sex around six months ago?"

She nodded her head.  

"Well then there you go!"

"But I wouldve known. I shouldve known! I have been drinking and... Stuff."

"We did tests on that already and we are ninety nine percent sure your baby is fine!"

Claire sighed with worry. "Alright then... Thanks..."

The doctor let and Claire started to burst out into tears. "I can't be pregnant!" She cried. "I'm not ready for another baby! I am already a single mom and... I can't do it with two of them." Sniffled. "Grants gonna kill me!"

"He is taking you back Claire! I called him. He is sorry and he said he wants you to come back home! It's his baby he would never kill you! ...it is his baby, right?"

"Of course! He is really taking me back?"

I nodded. "He loves you, I told you, and you would get him back.”

“I think I'm ready to go…” she said pulling the blanket off. “I want the next flight to Nashville; I really want to be back in Grant’s arms…”

“Ya… of course.”

She stood up and Taylor passed her a wheelchair to sit down in. Lulu curled up in her lap. After we released her and arrived at the doors. Claire cleared her throat. “Taylor, would you mind if you took Lulu in Taybear’s car? I kinda want to talk to her about something…”

“Ya!” he shrugged. “I don’t see the problem!”

I started wheeling Claire to Tay’s car after kissing him goodbye. “What is it Claire?”

She sighed. “I know this is a lot… and I want you to know you can decline… you have already done so much for me…”

“What is it?” I laughed.

“Do you think Lulu could stay with you guys for a while? Not forever or even close to that time… but I need to break the news to Grant… and being away from him for the last few months… we need to catch up…”
