As soon as Credence sees Casey in front of his eyes, he quickly rushes towards her and pulling her into a rather painful hug.

Casey trembles hard from the touch, a sharp sensation creeps inside her nerves. She musters every ounce of her strength to push Credence away, making Credence completely dumbfounded, before he realizes his mistake.

"I'm sorry Casey... I didn't mean to..."

Casey inhales deeply. She knows that wasn't Credence's fault. Credence is simply excited to see her. That's it.

But to think that a mere touch and hug could bring such pain, Casey feels rather helpless at the moment. She sunk down the couch, looking rather pale and hurt.

"I'm sorry Casey..."

Credence spoke again before awkwardly takes a seat besides Casey. He can't even looks at Casey in the eyes right now for he realizes he did hurt Casey, like literally hurt her.

"It's okay Credence... It's not that painful..."

Casey lied. But her expression shows the opposite. Credence however didn't manage to catch her expression as he can't keep held his head up.

Casey lets out a sigh before finally looks at Credence in the eyes. She had force herself not think about the issue but somehow she can't let it escape her mind. So she had no other option than to ask Credence the truth.

"What kind of relationship do you have with Mr. Graves?"

Casey's abrupt question makes Credence's heart jumps a little. He never expected the question. Although he contemplated for a bit, he knows he cannot lie to Casey. Yet, before he could mutter a word, Casey stops him.

"You like him don't you? You can't lie to me. I sense your affection."

Credence blinks furiously at the attack. To tell the truth, he did like the man. He did feel affectionate towards the man but that was simply because no else had ever care for him like the man did.

Yet, when he knew the truth that it was Grindelwald all along who tried to toy with his fragility and used him for his so called sacred intention, all his affection was gone.

Well maybe a slight feeling is still there but still, it's different now.

He hates the man more than he ever liked him.

To be honest, he won't admit his feelings in any kind of romantic way. It was a mere feeling you get when you thought someone care for you and you like them for doing so.

It wasn't romantic. Not at all.

"That was before Casey... I don't feel the same anymore..."

Casey senses Credence's sincerity and honesty in his answer. However that doesn't give her much satisfaction. She still feel rather envy of the man, for being able to light a spark inside Credence's heart. But before Casey could say anything, Credence said something that melts all her anger and frustration away.

"But now... I like you..."

*****

Casey can't seem to shut her eyes at all that night. She can't stop thinking about what Credence said to her.

"But now... I like you..."

At the time, Casey notices Credence's affection towards her. She wonders why she didn't realize it before. Or perhaps before this she had mistaken Credence's feelings for her as a mere affection when he feels protected, not in a romantic way.

Casey unknowingly smiles. So apparently, her feelings isn't one-sided. Casey doesn't know when it all started. Perhaps it is love at first sight, but she isn't quite sure. But to spend all the time with Credence, she wants to do more.

She wants to stop being a mere guardian for Credence. She doesn't want to be just friend with him like with Terry. She wants to be more than that with Credence.

She wants to protect him.
She wants to love him.

But can she?

She knows her family won't allow it. If she were to follow her heart, then for sure, her family would disown her.

Casey sighs.

If they were to be together, can they face all the obstacles together?
