Part 4

It was 8 a.m in the morning and Casey had spent her day in the Black Hut, taking care of the boy who unknowingly fall asleep after finishing the pumpkin porridge.

Today is the day where Casey is supposed to meet her family.

After preparing the breakfast, Casey slowly wakes the boy up. The boy still trembles hard everytime Casey touches him and Casey could sense his fear.

"Hey... It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you..."

Casey hesitated for a while before continues.

"My name is Casey. What's yours?"

The boy startled a bit before stammering his name.

"Ccc..Crr... Credence..."

"Nice to meet you Credence."

And then Casey smiles and directs him to the table where breakfast is waiting. And she could sense that Credence releases his tense and relaxes a bit.

But, when Casey is about to place a spoon and fork in front of the boy who is now sitting in front of her at the table. The boy's hand accidentally touches Casey's hand.

That is when Casey feels a tingling and sharp sensation on her hand and she trembles hard.

She saw it.

What happened to the boy.

She saw how the boy changed to be a black smoke of unknown shape and starts to destroy buildings and roads which Casey quickly recognise as the New York City.

Casey takes a deep breath.

"You're an obscurus aren't you?"

Casey asks while trying to open her eyes. She is still trembling and shuddering from the pain she gets when the boy touches her.

The boy is shaking hard. He looks at Casey's eyes before quickly low his gaze. Casey senses the boy's fear and guilt so Casey quickly sits down and looks at the boy before muttering a calming spell which works because the boy starts to calm himself a bit.

Casey takes another deep breath before continues.

"Look Credence... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to scare you. I... I'm a legilimen..."

Casey detects Credence's confusion so she continues.

"I'm a legilimen which means, I can read your mind..."

Credence looks up and stares at Casey's for a bit before looking back at the sausages and eggs in his plate.

"I'm sorry. It happened once in a while when people touched me without notice. I could penetrate deeply inside their mind and sense their greatest feelings. As for you, I saw your fear..."

Casey explains. And she could sense Credence uneasiness.

"Credence... I don't mind you being an obscurus or not. It's really fine. Okay?"

And Casey could hear the inner voice inside Credence's heart. It is full of sadness, guilt, fear and mostly doubt.

'You don't know what I did. It's not fine at all...'

"It's fine for me."

Casey answered. Credence looks at her intensely before registering that she could read his mind.

"Look Credence... I'm not afraid of you. Please... Let me help you..."

And Casey swears she could hear the inner battle of Credence's heart.

'She's just like Graves.'

'She can't help you.'

'But she's the only one willing to help.'

'Trust her for this once.'

But before Casey could respond to any Credence's inner voice, she heard another inner voice outside her hut.

'Why am I here?'

'This place is sickening.'

Casey recognizes the voice. So she quickly asks Credence to stay silently in one of the room before she trudges towards her front door.

"Good morning brother."
