*************************************

The great hall that night is so neatly decorated with blue and pink flowers. The ceiling had been enchanted to look like the night sky with stars and constellations. There, right in the middle, there's a combination of pink and blue forming the Mystic Mountain.

Prof. Dippet smiles while looking at the final year students, most of them are enjoying the dance with their partners while some others (the single ones, I must say) are preoccupied in eating the delicacies. Prof. Dumbledore on the other hand, is rather preoccupied in his Lemon Sherbet while conversing with Newt.

Casey and Terry entered the great hall with slow steps, causing most of the students to halt their dances as to admire the perfect couple. The male students gape at Casey's stunning appearance while the females all fuming with anger as their partner can't keep their eyes away from Casey.

Terry at the time is so protective towards Casey, he holds Casey's hand so tight while guiding her through the hall towards the dine tables.

"Are you sure you don't want to dance?"

Casey asked again for God knows how many time. She feels a bit guilty for letting Terry accompanies her while he should be on the dance floor, showing off his dance ability.

Terry simply smiles before shook his head. Of course he wanted to dance with Casey, but how can they do it without letting Casey touches other students and feel the excruciating pain? So instead of risking the chance, it would be better if they stay that way.

Little did they know, their action is being watch closely by Credence. Credence, at the time, almost lose his composure if not because of Newt nudging him from the side. However, he can't stay patient much longer as he stands from his seat and walks towards Casey, much to Newt and Dumbledore's amazement.

Terry is complaining about his hair that took almost two hours to stay in position when suddenly, a boy of about his age walks towards them, looking rather angry at Casey. Casey quickly turns around as she detects Credence's presence.

"What are you doing here Casey? I thought you're not coming..."

Credence manages to ask while trying to calming his emotion, but fail to do so as a thin black smoke starts to form from his hand. Casey notices that so she quickly stands up, facing Credence.

"Credence..."

Before Casey could say anything, Credence runs towards Newt, not looking back for once. Black smoke entrails behind his long coat.

"What is going on here Casey?"

Terry asked with confusion written all over his face. Casey gulps as she sees Newt and Credence storms away from the great hall. Casey bits her lower lips before muttering her apology towards Terry. She is about to run towards Credence when a sharp pain travels through her vein. Terry is clutching on her arm so tightly that Casey's tears falls unknowingly.

"Casey please! Tell me what is going on!"

Terry pleads in a rather forceful way but Casey simply stands there, unable to move, her body numbs from the sudden touch. But the greater pain comes from the scar inside her heart, for hurting Credence's feelings just like that.

"Just now... He's Credence isn't he? How the hell did he come to the ball? Did you know about it?"

Terry asked desperately while slowly letting go of his grip, with a slight guilt for being so ruthless at the time. Casey slowly nods although there is still no words coming from her mouth. Terry's in a daze before realization hits him hard.

"You used me didn't you?"

Casey really didn't know what to say at the moment for it is the truth. She did use Terry's innocence and asked him to be her partner as to make Credence realize the situation the three of them tangled in.

Casey knows she should have let Credence go away just like that, stopping their blooming relationship once and for all. But when she sees the black smoke coming from Credence's hand, Casey can't help but to envision what would happen if he didn't go to Credence.

She knows that if she didn't go to pursue Credence, far worse consequences might happen. Credence may not be able to conceal his power anymore and destroy Hogwarts, revealing his identity to everyone.

That is why, Casey had no other choice but to guiltily leave Terry, her partner for the Final Ball.

*****

Credence trembles hard while trying to find his breathing rhythm. He speaks in a rather desperate manner.

"Please Newt, I want to go back..."

"But why so suddenly Credence? I thought you want to come here... Just now, what did you talk to Casey?"

Credence shook his head violently.

"Please Newt, let's go back..."

Credence plead. He manages to catch a glimpse of Casey who is running towards him before he shuts his eyes.

"Credence!"

Casey yelled as soon as she reaches the outside of the Great Hall. Her eyes are wide in shock as soon as she sees what is happening.

Newt is petrified at the time as Credence is quarter way through changing into his obscurial form. Fortunately there's no students linger around the hallway.

Credence trembles hard from the process but then unknowingly, a warm feeling embraces him from behind before he starts to feel dizzy.
