Part 50

It's been more than two months since Casey's meeting with both her family and the Potters. Since then, she didn't receive any letters or news from her family. Truthfully, she knows that her parents especially her father is so upset with her decision to postpone the engagement. But Casey knows that is the only way for her to stay with the love of her heart.

Because unlike muggles' engagement, the engagement in the wizarding world includes the unbreakable vow involving both parties. A vow that asks them to stay in the relationship until marriage.

And then during the wedding ceremony, another unbreakable vow would be made, for them to keep bonding at least for five years of the marriage.

Casey can't afford to take the chance.

Even if she could stay with Terry and then get a divorce after five years of marriage, the thought of spending her time with her boy best friend instead of her true love is unbearable.

Of course she had taken the option into consideration, but the hurt that Credence would face if ever Casey did choose to proceed with the engagement and wedding is something that Casey cannot tolerate. It pains her more than it might hurt Credence.

Casey inhales deeply, trying to ignore the slight pain that crosses her heart when she thinks about her family.

After all, this is the choice she made.

Casey is about to enter the library when suddenly her amulet shines brightly, she knows that it means Credence wanted to meet her. That is their secret rendezvous. She had given the same amulet to Credence before, asking him to hold it tight and think of her anytime he needs her.

Credence never use it before, he rather not disturb Casey unless Casey is free to meet him at her own will. But after so long they haven't meet each other, Credence is struggling with his own emotion.

He misses Casey too much.

Casey had told him about what happened regarding her engagement with Terry. Credence can't help but to be grateful for that. He silently thanks Terry for being such a great friend.

Since then however, Casey had been quite busy with her studies. They only met for five times during the two months time and Credence can't hold it any longer. He needs to see Casey.

He needs to feel rest assured that their relationship is fine.

He needs to knows that Casey still loves him the way he loves her.

Casey misses Credence.

Terribly.

For two months she had conceal all her feelings.

She hasn't got the time to spend with Credence since she knows that her priority at the moment is to study and focus on her N.E.W.T.S.

But her heart feels so empty at the same time. That's why, as soon as she got the message from Credence, she quickly apparates to Newt's house, completely ignoring her original plan to study.

In fact, she feels no regret in doing so.

"I miss you so bad... I thought my head might explode from all those studies..."

Casey said truthfully. Both she and Credence are now sitting at their favourite place - facing the lake while leaning on the big oak trees.

"Is it that hard? N.E.W.T.S I mean..."

"Well, yeah... Potions and Transfigurations especially. I'm not really fond of them..."

Credence simply chuckles at Casey's statement. At the same time, his heart envies Casey for being able to learn all those magic tricks and charms. Deep inside his heart, he wishes his real mother never died, so that she can teach him all the things he needs to know, or even brought him up in the wizarding world.

Casey's sudden hand on top of his own unknowingly stops Credence's thought.

"I'm here for you Credence... I can teach you..."

Casey replies honestly. She wants Credence to feel that he is part of the wizarding world. She doesn't want Credence to feel neglected like he feels before.

Credence nods knowingly. He knows Casey would care that much for him.

"What do you want to be then Casey?"

Credence asked, trying to divert their focus of conversation.

Casey however simply shrugs at the question.

"Truthfully, I don't really know... I've been told to study properly so I can inherit my father's inheritance, taking care of the Black lands and assets. But I now I guess that's not going to happen..."

Casey answers without much thinking until she realizes the effect of her words towards Credence. Credence shifted slightly in his seat, now pressing his knees to his chest. He lowers his gaze, unable to look at Casey any longer as his heart can't stop feeling guilty - for making Casey choose him instead of her own family.

"Hey..."

Casey said softly before taking Credence's hand and interlaces their hands together, forcing Credence to look at her again.

"It's my choice Credence... I want to be with you... it's not your fault... Besides, I never wanted to do such job. I never fond of them. And I'm sure my brothers and sister would be more than glad when they know that I'm going to let go my fortunes."

Credence swallows hard before blinking a few times. He knows that he promised Casey to be ready with everything. And so that's exactly what he's going to do. He would never let such thing weaken him. He has to be strong for Casey.

'I have to be strong...'

Casey smiles beautifully upon hearing Credence's inner thought. She inhales deeply a few times before continues staring at Credence.

"I'll be having my N.E.W.T.S in another two weeks. So I won't have the time to meet you until everything's settled..."

Casey said with a slight remorse in her tone. She looks at Credence intensely, trying to make sure he's able to understand her situation.

Credence simply nods his head, a tinge of sadness creeps on his heart as Casey would be even busier after this.

Casey that senses Credence's uneasiness slowly pulls Credence into a hug, in the softest way possible as if to ensure him that everything would be fine.

"After all of this, I'll meet you... I promise... we'll stay together forever..."

Casey whispered softly, tightens her grips on Credence's shoulder.

Credence on the other hand trying hard to ignore the urge to hug Casey back as not to hurt her. So he slowly shuts his eyes and inhales deeply in the beautiful scent of her lover.

"I love you Casey..."

"I love you too Credence..."
