Part 41

Credence opens his eyes reluctantly. But he soon discovers he wasn't in the place he had expected to be.

It is the Black Hut.

And Casey is now hugging him so tight as if refuse to let him go. Credence struggles under Casey's embrace, trying hard to run away. He accidentally touches Casey's arm, causing the girl to yelp in pain and release him.

Credence is about to run away but Casey quickly stops him, ignoring the earlier pain while clutching on his right arm and spins him around to look at her.

"Credence please..."

"Let me go Casey!"

"Just listen to me..."

"No!"

Credence yelled much to his annoyance. Casey swears she had never sees Credence that mad before. The black smoke had grew larger and had unknowingly encircle the both of them in a horrified manner, enough to make one shivers from the scene.

Casey gulps at the situation not knowing what to do. She hesitantly releases Credence's arm while looking rather desperately into Credence's eyes.

"Credence I'm scared..."

Casey said almost in a whisper. She mantains her gaze intensely on Credence but still there's no respond from the boy.

She swallows hard before finally taking a deep breath and walks even closer towards Credence, ignoring the black smoke that almost blinded her vision.

Softly and very carefully, she places her hands on Credence's shoulder before hugging him in a slow motion as if afraid that the fragile boy may break at any moment.

She mutters a calming charm, while tightens her hug, hoping that it would calm Credence a bit.

Credence takes a deep breath, shutting his eyes while trying hard to maintain his composure. Casey's whisper can clearly be heard.

"Please Credence... Don't hurt me..."

10 seconds.

20 seconds.

1 minute.

They stay like that for almost 5 minutes before Credence could contain all his obscurus back. But he still didn't open his eyes.

Casey sighs deeply before slowly releases her hug.

"Credence please... Look at me..."

Credence reluctantly opens his eyes.

"Are you fine now Credence?"

Casey asked softly but Credence simply shook his head. He turns away, refuse to return Casey's gaze.

Casey not knowing what to do, slowly holds Credence's hand and lead him to one of the couch, letting Credence sits on it while she kneels in front of him.

"Credence listen..."

"Who's that boy?"

Credence said before Casey could finish her sentence. Casey gulps before manages to mutter her answer.

"Tarius Potter... My future fiancee..."

Casey swears she could sense both anger and sadness swirling inside Credence's mind. She tried to mutter a calming charm but it seems to lose its effect on Credence.

"Do you love him?"

Casey unknowingly bits her lower lips at Credence's question. Unsure of what she should say at the moment.

"I said, do you love him?"

Again Credence asked, now with a rather forceful manner. His eyes are fixed on Casey. A black smoke starts to come out again from his hand, making Casey shudders at the sight.
But Casey thoughtfully holds his hands before slowly interlaces their fingers together, never once breaking her eye contact with Credence.

Casey swallows hard before shook her head slowly.

"I love you..."
